Has anyone heard anything about what this group is like? What kind of music do they play? Is it worth it to see htem over Steel Pulse? What are your'e opinions?
They Play Honky Tonk. They have Gordon Stone, Scott Murawski (sp?) from Max Creek and a few others. It's straight up hill-billy music. All covers, Country standards. All of the members of Phish sat in with them at different shows last week.
I'm splitting time between steel pulse and mikey. I was gonna see mike's whole set, but truth be told, honkey tonk/country is really not my thing. I'm checking it out more out of curiousity than anything.

The Buck Owens tribute show they did in feb(?) was up on etree for a while - might still be. It's pretty cool, I'm not the world's biggest fan of country, but I enjoyed it - in small doses. I'll definately check them out though.

Just download the recent show that featured Trey on almost all songs. It was great! I would check this band out, even if Mike or Trey weren't there. I love me some Gordon Stone.
I'm not a Phish fan by any means and Mike Gordon was an ass to my friends during the Xmas Jam, but I'm definetly checking this out. He may be a wierd asshole, but Mike Gordon can play his ass off and I love country music. This outta be a great show.....I'm digging the setlist, I may have to dl this. Thanks!
Well my friend asks Mr Gordon for a photo (it was at the meet and greet pre Xmas jam jam) and instead of saying politely sorry, but no (like Warren Hanyes did).....he yells at him says that he doesn't take pictures inside (wtf???). He then cuts in line for a beer in front of them and strolls to the backstage area all the while Trey is looking at him and making a WTF face at the whole ordeal. When Trey is the one who shows no ego well then shit! I really don't care though, he'll put on a good show and I'll there (I just won't ask for a pic w/ him inside anyplace).

I am so glad I saw this thread... I had no idea Gordon Stone and Scott Murawski were in the band... i knew the guys from Phish have been sitting in, but man I am definitely gonna check this set out down at Roo now... I'm not too much of a country/hill-billy fan, but it should be fun nonetheless.
I was probably gonna head back to camp too during this time for awhile if I didn't check out ramble dove so it's good to now that my schedule is now completely (overly) full.

A little love for Steel Pulse: If you're into classic reggae (not really dancehall), you need to see these guys. David Hind's vocals are strong, righteous, and beautiful. They have a lot of upbeat, bouncy songs that make it impossible not to move. And, my god, you want to talk about some serious dreadlocks . . . They're definitely worth checking out.
