Dios (malos) are incredible, and I won't miss them. I really can't believe they're playing Thursday. If you're into Neil Young, The Beach Boys, classic rock in general, or just a good old fashioned chill, Dios is where it's at.
Wood Brothers, and Toubab Krewe are my must sees. I have a big list of 9 bands for thursday + Pres. Hall, BUT It all hinges on who is the VIP show on thursday.
If you like Drums you will ike the Motet. I personally think the drum solo is one of the worst thing any band can do at a show but to each their own. There will be multiple solos during the Motet.
The Motet >> Wood Brothers/Matt Costa/The Cat Empire (no clue) >> Devotchka >> Marah
I might catch a little Toubab Krewe also. The only absolute musts for me on Thursday are Devotchka and Marah. I'm a little disappointed that dios (malos) are conflicting, because I've enjoyed the little bit I heard.

Matt Costa cause my girl likes him, Devothcka for sure. These guys are super cool. You will like them if you enjoy arcade fire or decemberists. They have a similar sound, lots of instruments. Electric Eel Shock to close the night. Thursday is a sweet lineup this year.
I think I will try to catch Motet based on pmckene's comments. I like drums.

i'm so torn between matt costa and the wood brothers. they are simialri in that they are acoustic and i think i like them both equally. so i guess i'll prlly end up seein half of each
Can't wait to see the wood brothers, i got their cd and cant stop listening to it. Thats the only thursday night show that i know i will stay the entire time for.
Patton Oswalt in the comedy tent... this is actually the one person I have to see on Thursday... I've always loved his stand-up and am so excited to see him at Roo, and I figure Thursday is the only day that I'm going to be able to catch his show, because friday is jammed with bands that I want to see.

yeah i plan on being in the comedy tent early on with everybody else when there is no music playing, but my line up after that goes Wood brothers, Devotchka, and tobaub Krewe, spelling is not my strong point.
defiently wood bros and moonshine still. i really wanted to see toubab krewe but moonshine still is a must see. i plan on catching some comedy too. and i hope the preservation jazz hall turns into a thursday latenight
Definetly the Wood Brothers....... Wouldn't mind seeing Patton in the comedy tent, but I'm not waiting in line for a long ass time. Moonshine Still ......I missed um at Wanee and really waned to see them.
The VIP Party, then Costa and then just wandering between... Last year on Thursday night, wandering between tents was a nice magical way to start Roo. (ALO changing their "Barbeque" lyrics to "Welcome to your Bonnaroo" helped a lot too.)
I was just listening to bands from that night, Matt Costa is really good more suited for a daytime set though, a little bit Jack Johnson but slightly Alt-edgier, Devotchka are depressing Eastern European meets Smiths alt rock via CO, but good, Marah are rowdy altcountry/rock n roll from Philly who sound like they will be drunk for the show and fun, the Wood Brothers sound like organic bluesy/rootsy stuff, should be good. I plan to have the sampler plater that night. Enjoy.
