Hi, Ive never been to bonnaroo so i hope some of you can help me out. How hard is it to get really good spots at shows at the the two main stages? LIke, how long will I have to wait at What Stage to get a good spot for Oysterhead? Or even, Radiohead? Will I have to go to Steel Pulse and just stay after to get in good for Oysterhead, or do you think ill be able to come after? The only reason I ask instead of just finding out is becasue Friday will essentially be my first bonnaroo day and I dont know what to expect and I dont want to miss seeing trey really close.
Getting close isn't that difficult, but if you want to get up front, you should see the end of steel pulse, wait for the show to be over, and get as close as you can. that is the best way to do it.
I personally don't see the fascination with getting up front at GA shows. It's usually extremely crowded with very little room to dance. And I've definitely got the dancing shoes on for Oysterhead. I'll be hanging out where I can throw my elbows and feet around and not hurt anyone. Besides I've been known to spin in circles when I'm really feelin it and you just can't do that up front.
I personally think behind the speakers in the field is a really good spot, or just to the left or right of the beer-tent that is in the middle of the main stage field. There are some amazing screens at the mainstage to both the left and right, so it's not like you can't see if you are in the middle or back of the field.
Yeah if You wanna be up front you gotta get there pretty much when the previous show ends. Because you aint gonna make it but so close to the stage, it can be kind of rude when your trying to get past people when there is no where to go, cause the crowd is so tight.
But I have found that if you are covered in mud you will easily get to the front cause people move right out of the way for them.
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
I'm wondering about the come at the end of the last show advice about one specific slot, between Beck and Radiohead. I'm not sure there will be much turnover in the crowd between these two. I think many Radiohead fans will also be there to see Beck. The only thing I see happening is a lot of people entering the crowd from the Beck time slot competition at the other stages/tents. Am I wrong on this assumption?

Im thinking the same way you are. I dont see there being much turnover at all between the two.
I know Im going to be getting there during the middle of Costello to try to ensure a good spot.

Going by the schedule, there's an hour and a half between when Beck ends and Radiohead begins. I'm sure there will be some who stay. But I'd be surprised if it's so many that you can't get an amazing spot by showing up after Beck ends.
