i cannnot wait for Common. I saw him live at BB Kings in NYC a couple years back right after his cd cameout and it was an awesome show. And after he dropped his latest album "Be", i was instantly hooked. This guy can rock a show....
Anyone know/think how they are going to do it with Common/Blackalicious/Lyrics Born. Do you think that they are all just going to be on stage at once going off, or Lyrics Born blends into Blackalicious blends into Common, with maybe them doing the Common old school medley at the end of the set all together. I hope that it is like the last way I described, because I want to see at least an hour or so of MMJ.
I really wanted to see him, but umphreys/biscuits is much more important to me so unfortunately im gonna have to skip it. Maybe ill drop in at the end of his set or something

I think it's going to be very similar to last year's Perceptionists/RJD2/De La Soul set. Remember, last year, until right before the festival, they were all listed as one block of time, much like these guys are now. I'd bet it's actually three separate sets. I think that Lyrics Born will get maybe 45 minutes to an hour, and the Blackalicious and Common will each get about an hour to and hour and a half. Just a hunch, though.
I hope they let us know in advance what the order is going to be though - I really, really want to see Common, but I'm luke-warm about the other two (I saw Blackalicious live a year or so ago, and it wasn't so hot). I also really want to see MMJ, so I'd love it if it went LB/Blackalicious/Common, because then I figure I could see most of MMJ then skip over for Common. Ah well.
Thanks for the insight. I hope that you are right.

not thattt big a fan of Blackalicous... love Lyrics Born and have seen him many times, and Commons amazing. I cannot wait for this show. Too bad RJ's not back this year, saw him in NYC this summer and loved him. The venue made it twice as cool, in some renovated church, too badass..

Do you mean that they posted the separate sets on the Bonnaroo website before the show last year or it stayed as one block until the actual show when they each went on one at a time?
I was a little psyched that the MMJ set was shortened enough for me to jump over and see the last hour of the hip hop tent. I'm guessing Common will probably go last.
