Anyone else set up a spot at 11:30 for Radiohead when they opened the gate to the main stage? Luckily I was with other people and was able to see other shows before Costello and still keep my spot.
After Elvis Costello though there was this huge migration of people that pushed foreward to get a good spot for Beck and Radiohead. They expected that the people at the front would clear out and they could take the places but they ended up stepping all over us in an attempt to make room where there was none. It kinda pissed me off that we got there early to get a good spot and then these people barge in late and expect us to just let them through.
Sorry bout that...just had to rant a little. It was still an amazing show! ;D
Yeah, I totally got an awesome spot when the gates opened. IT also pissed me off after waiting for 12 hours when some asshole dude just expects to walk right up to the front. From the end of Elvis at 4:30 I didn't sit down until 12 midnight.
It was a glorious show. Beck was a great warm-up for Radiohead. Radiohead's performance was life changing. I'm nor quite sure which song was my favorite, but it may have been Paranoid Android. Did you see Johnny play his keyboard with the head of his guitar?
exactly I missed alot of good shows to wait in front for radiohead, and then I just ended up leaving my spot before Beck because all those people just came charging towards the front and leaving no room at all. But I needed a beer and to piss so I just left....crazy though because I started to move from the front before Beck started and ended up getting stuck in the crowd and had to wait until after Beck before I was able to force my way out of the crowd.

My friend went to get us pizza and drinks right after Costello when you could still get out becuase we hadn't eaten all day and by 5:20 we thought he had given up and stayed in the back somewhere but then we see him wading his way through the crowd spilling lemonade everywhere. If you saw the crowd up front right before Beck you would know how near impossible that is to do.
We waited from the beginning of Costello, about 5 ~ 10 feet back from the rail, off center to the right. It was one of the most miserable experiences of my life, but Beck and Radiohead blew my mind.
First Beck, with the puppets which was so cool (especially the short film at the end), and then Radiohead went and set the bar at a new level for what I expect out of a concert. I felt vindicated after being pressed up against a bunch of sweaty strangers all day.

i can't believe how shitty people were before radiohead. i understand how excited some people were to see them, but people have to understand that not everyone can be in the front row. in the 1.5 hours between beck and radiohead, i can't count how many times i was stepped on, shoved, pushed, and bumped into by people trying to force their way forward.

Im really glad we came when we did, we got there maybe 10min before they started, hardly any line - our friends saved us spots near the beer tents and all was good
