First impression of this album....it's frickin awesome. I liked thier last 2 albums, but they can't hold a candle to this one IMO. I dunno, it's just REALLY frickin good. And it's not out until next month....BONUS. Hope my karma doesn't get smited for that. I'll buy it when it comes out, don't worry. I've also been listening to alot of Johnny Cash since I saw Walk the Line.

All the snow has turned to water Christmas days have come and gone Broken toys and faded colors Are all that's left to linger on
I hate graveyards and old pawn shops For they always bring me tears I can't forgive the way they rob me Of my childhood souvenirs
Memories they can't be boughten They can't be won at carnivals for free Well it took me years To get those souvenirs And i don't know how they slipped away from me
Broken hearts and dirty windows Make life difficult to see That's why last night and this morning' Always look the same to me
Revolution is not something fixed in ideology, nor is it something fashioned to a particular decade. It is a perpetual process embedded in the human spirit. -Abbie Hoffman

Phone went west - My Morning Jacket (Live From Bonnaroo '04) this is an amazing disc by the way, I was there and heard it live and now I re-live it all the time - I Love You Jim James

moe. - 1/22/05 - can't stop listening to this show. I had totally gotten bored with moe. and ignored them for a year and half. This show totally got me interested in them again. It's on the archive if anyone is interested.
I went on a little Bonnaroo insipired shopping spree today, and picked up the most recent albums by Damian Marley, Atmosphere, Son Volt and the Magic Numbers (I don't know a single thing about the latter, it was on sale for 7.99 at Best Buy so I grabbed it. There's a girl playing a melodica on the cover).
So far I've listen to a few tracks of Atmosphere. I'm not loving it, but I'm definitely not disliking it, and all of my favorite hip-hop has taken me some time and a few listens to get into, so I'm pretty much withholding judgement.
The Buzzc0cks : Singles Going Steady Neil Finn & Friends : 7 Worlds Collide Stephen Malkmus : Face The Truth Bonnie "Prince" Billy : Sings Greatest Palace Music Lucero : Nobody's Darlings Arctic Monkeys : Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not
How is that? I really liked Surgery. Very droning all most a Secret Machines feel to em. I need to listen to that again.
As for me, let's see... Pavement-Brighten the Corners Cat Power-The Greatest The Cloud Cult-The Happy Hippopotamus Apollo Sunshine-s\t
Yeah, I like all these. It's aaaaall good.
So aquariumdrunk... Do you like that Arctic Monkey's album? I've tried, cause my friend really likes it, but it just sounds way to generic to me. I don't know what it is, but I just get the same feeling from them as I do from Franz, which is...meh(shrugs shoulders). Maybe I'm missing something, which wouldn't be the first time.

Phoenix album is my personal favorite from the 3. This one and the first are more psychdelic/shoegazer & lighter then Surgery which does have that drone feel to it.

I donno about you all, but ever since the lineup announcement all I've been listening to Bonnaroo artists for this year. Right now it's all about The Magic Numbers.

The jury is still out on this one. There are a couple of stand out tracks, but a lot of the stuff tends to blur together into, like you said, a sort of generic guitar buzz. I've only given it a few listens thus far -- so we'll see. I really do love "I Bet You..." though.
I am listening to the new Flaming Lips album at the present moment. Hint Hint for all you torrent users out there. At War With the Mystics is what it's called. I'm liking it.

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! - S/T
The album is great but I have a feeling live is not going to be so good. I listen to the WOXY.com podcast of there recent lounge act, not so hot. I think they are just a new band and need some practice, or maybe it was a bad set.
