i remember when TOOL's last album leaked, everyone listened to it and was like "dude this cd sucks, i bet tool recorded a terrible album, leaked it, and the real one will blow us away!"
yea that didn't happen
and, on the thread topic, i'd probably check out a few minutes of arcade fire but that video didn't do it for me. at all. i turned it off after a few minutes. i can't listen to british sounding indie rockers any more.
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
I'm actually going to see em on Thursday. It's at this really small bar, so it should be pretty friggin awesome. I can't wait. I'll let you know how it is.
Yeah, that neonbible site is pretty wild. I'm looking forward to seeing the videos from their New York stand. Did you know tickets for those shows in the churches are going for more than a grand a piece? INSANE.

Yes the album has leaked, and is on quite a few sites...shouldn't be hard to find. Spectacular. Download it before you go to bed.... Danbird! Midlake is phenomenal! Both records are vastly different and equally great. I hope you have a great time. Take some pics and post em on the thread if you can!!!!
Yeah, I just got their first album. That one sounds alot like Grandaddy, IMO. It's good, but like you said different than the Occupanther. I will try to remember to take my camera to the show. I will post them thereafter.
Also, Arcade Fire is awesome, and I love the new album ;D

Danbird, I am envious, you get to hear Roscoe live!!!! I have never seen 'em, but I hope that shread...and trip you out a little with the Silvercork-era stuff! Which I can see the Grandaddy in and I never thought of that. Bamnan and Sivercork reminds me of Bowie... BTW, I would dig a synthed out Grandaddy set or Midlake at Roo. And as progressive as Roo has been it's not crazy, but Midlake is soooo obscure, Occupanther helped grow the fan base, but I would think them a longshot for Roo....SXSW is their biggest fest to date...

Unfortunately, Grandaddy are no more, but they were great at Roo in 04.
Midlake have definitely moved past the level of obsure. Once you're part of the indie vernacular, accepted by the bloggers, the message boards, and many major publications -- you've surpassed obscurity. I'd say a Roo performance is almost a given this year. In fact, I'll put a beer on them being in the line up, man.

Aquarium, I'll get the next beer if that one comes true! And I really do agree, the blogs blew up Occupanther/Roscoe!!! Bamnan and Silvercork is a sick album, too. Those were the obscure days!
I'm watching the Coachella DVD right now and the Arcade Fire performance makes the hair on my neck stand up. Their sh!t is epic and you can stomp your feet to it...great for the community vibe of Roo....

Midlake were also at Lollapalooza, which I would consider a pretty big fest. I caught the set at Lolla, and they would be fan-freakin-tastic for Bonnaroo.....and they would prolly also win some new fans as well.

I saw Midlake this past saturday night they did a great job. I walked away a bigger fan. Some goofball next to me kept screaming for Roscoe after they played it. He was so loud they actually were about to play it again at the end of the show. Almost got double Roscoe
