Hey guys, I have been lurking around mostly the logistics board to help me get an idea what to bring, but this will be my first post. I'll also add that this is the most laid back message board I have ever seen, which is cool.
I play guitar, keep in mind I am nothing special, but as far as jamming goes I atleast know my chord progressions and scales. I already have a harmonica or two, but I am looking to buy a travel guitar for cheap considering I don't want to bring any of my real ones. I'd love to be able to buy a Martin backpacker or Washburn Rover but they are more than I want to pay considering I just dropped two large for tickets and will probably drop 2 or 3 more for equipment, gas, and food and goodies at the Roo.
To the point: Does anyone have experience with any travel, backpacker, or baby guitars? Even if one of you fella's do play one of the more pricey ones I would love to hear what you think about it/them. You never know, maybe I could find a Washburn for cheap.
I have a Martin Backpacking guitar. I bought it because it has full size frets, which most of the baby guitars do not have. It has a very tinny sound and it's impossible to play without a strap, but it's very light weight, and convenient to cary (especially if you do hiking/backpacking). It costs around $180.
i'll probably bring a guitar with me for thrusday.....not sure how much time there will be for jamming once the music begins. i saw another thread on jamming, and it looks like there will be plenty of people packing instruments. looking forward to it.
I am thinking about the times when i am innebriated/atlterered whenever we gat back to camp and stll want to hang out. Seems like fun to d*ck around with a few people on a travel guitar, harmonica, bongos every night before we hit the hay.
I don't like travel guitars... I'm just not into the sound of them.. to small and shallow..
I'm bringing my 12 string Washburn this year. I hope to see some of you guys and jam with you!
I LOVE the sound of 12 strings. I almost bought a used Seagull not too long ago. I just don't think we will have room to take a full sized guitar with us.
well, basically it's a little easier on the fingers, and the bottom E becomes more of a bass string.. it gives it an even fuller sound... at least I think it does
oh and by the way, I love your icon ;D
I have that as my wallpaper on my computer, only the Don't Panic is on the bottom

you know i'll be bringing my harps to jam, the good thing about a harmonica is wherever you go there you are and you can pull one out and just start playing, well if oysterhead is on you can't but any other time.
