This will be my third Roo but my 1st in two years and i need some help.
What is the security like going into Centeroo and the concert field? If I have a book bag will they find all my beer that i will hide in the bottom? Thats pretty much all im worried about since they dont sell Natty at Centeroo!!

This is what I do. Walk to one of the entrances and go to the side of the fence set your backpack on the otherside and have your buddy go through and pick it up then you go through. No sweat. Works everytime. Seeya there.
It's all about something I call "picking your horse." All this means there is a very diverse security staff at bonnaroo and not all are as strict as others. And you will have time to scope out the staff while in line. Traditionally, I look for youth and anyone who looks like they are working Bonnaroo for a free ticket.
Note: Townies, old ladies, and men over 6'5 without dreads..... STAY AWAY!!!
like everyone else says.. it depends on who you go to.. last year, I had people not even pay attention to me.. and then someone else who would look through everything in my backpack. so just pay attention on what they're doing with the people in front of you

Pick your horse wisely. KJ.
That's it, totally.
Last year, my brother got busted with a pipe in his wasteband. First time in dozens of entrances over two years. The dude was cool and told him to bring it back to his tent...
... so he got in the next line over and cruised in.
He went from cool to cooler and it was cool.
(Also, anyone with a supervisor RIGHT behind them may not have the option of cool so BEWARE!)

This is how it was when i was there two years ago. The first Roo was chaos. I brought a big ass cooler into Centeroo!!!
1. have one person from your party go in with nothing on them while you stay outside the gates 2. walk along the gate, with them on the inside and you on the outside. wait til you get to a good locale and - viola! - you hand him the bag with all the beers in it and you walk in with nothing on you.
the "pick your horse" thing works well too. just look for a quickly-moving line or a chill-looking checker.
it also helps to have your bag open or at least your arms up when they go to check you. if your bag is open, the checker is more likely to think "this person has nothing to hide", give a quick rummage, and just move on to the next person.

^^^ I can vouch for this plan of attack. I don't carry a bag in, but if you walk in w/ your shirt held up (so they can see your waistband), they generally won't even touch you.
