So the next town over from here there was an apartment building that caught fire yesterday morning. The 20 year old pregnant girl got outside, then was crying out for help to save her two daughters (3 yrs, other one 6 months old) inside. The two little ones died from smoke inhalation.
The general consensus in the community is ... why didn't the mother try and save her own kids? Most normal people would make honest attempt to save them, she apparently didn't.
I swear I hate the dumb f*ckin white trash around here.

So yeah, I get up, take a shower, get dressed and head out to the car. My porch is a little icy but the driveway and my road are clear. I think everything is a go for getting to work. Then, I turn onto the road at the bottom of the hill. Once all four tires hit the road, I slide off the road directly. Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200. Maybe I will make another attempt when the sun comes up and this mess starts to melt.

I made the mistake of listening to the zac brown band live from bonnaroo album and now I'm sad he won't b there. He's playing sunday and pit tickets but I work til 11
Just realized that Bonnaroo is the same weekend as Clearwater's Great Hudson River Revival this year. I was pumped to go to my first revival this year and now I have a huge decision to make.

New grrrrr: I hate the media. It turns out the news reports were wrong about this one. The girl was only pregnant with one child, not two. And the younger daughter was nine months old, not six. And while the mother did run outside and cry for help, she at least made attempt to save the kids - and was blockaded by the fire.
I found out more from hearsay through people in the community than I did watching the "pros" on television. Connecticut media can't get their sh*t straight, no wonder there was so much crummy information coming out after Sandy Hook last month.
My good best girlfriend is back, again, with the most despicable man I have met in years. No one -not one- of her many, many friends can tolerate this asshole. We never see her. She is always 'busy'. She won't make plans with anyone that doesn't include him. Against my better judgement we decided to get together with them - I had not seen her in months.
This guy: A standup AA member. On NYE he was drinking what I (naively) thought was a glass of ice water. He was on the second one before I realized it was actually a big, tall glass of vodka & ice cubes. What ensued was the kind of scene you can watch on Cops. *shudder*
After the worst night in history I was sure she finally realized he is a controlling and disturbed abuser who isolates her from anyone who truly cares about her.

Boo to co-workers heating up really stinky things in the morning. I'm just trying to eat my banana without smelling (what I imagine is) rancid goat meat or cat food.
I will second that GRR to coworkers with ones that literally eat all day. LITerally. and open mouth chew. Today for instance: 9:24am - apple crunching 10:39am - chips crunching? 12-1pm - acceptable eating noises as it is LUNCHTIME 1:45pm - carrots crunching? 2:15pm - more apple...
I mean, I guess I should let people eat when they wanna bc we're grownups (allegedly) and we can do what we want, but for the love. Please choose quieter foods, at least from the moment you walk in the door until lunch time.

Now I feel like an a$$hole because I ate carrots for breakfast at work. At 7:30am
My dear, sweet Grandpa Roll passed away this afternoon. He truly was the best man I have ever known. I am so grateful I went to visit him last May. It was a wonderful trip where he got to take me to the new little NASCAR museum in town he was so proud of, went sightseeing all over Arkansas and Missouri, and spent the most amazing evening sitting outside listening to various folk bands play in Mountain Home. I was blessed with my wonderful "Roll Model" grandparents, and now I take comfort that they are reunited in spirit, after almost seven years apart. I will miss them every day though. Making the trip to Arkansas this week for probably the last time will very difficult.

I'm so sorry about this steph. I lost both of my grandfathers as well and they'll always hold a special place in our hearts. Be strong! My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
It's awesome that you guys got to go sightseeing! I lost my dad a little over a year ago. One of the last times I got to spend with him was watching the Super Bowl. It was the year the game was here in texas and since I live only a few blocks from the stadium, we drove past it during half time. It was simple but it's one of my favorite nights I ever had with the guy. But it's those moments that make it easier for us. A random lunch, holidays, a drive past the big game, or a trip to the NASCAR museum. Always cherish and take comfort in knowing those memories happened and you were fortunate enough to share them with him! Those thoughts will always keep him with you.
I was called out today for having broken English. By a person who speaks more broken English in one day than I have in the last year. That is a sure fire way to piss off an English Major.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
I live in a farely quiet and peaceful apartment complex, aside from my new neighbors living two floors above who aparently think it is ok to leave their two large dogs on the very small patio for hours and hours (even when they are home), rain, below freezing ect. I'm so tired/sad of hearing them howl for over an hour, and then on top of that they use the bathroom there, which runs down onto my patio, and every few days, sometimes a week or more, the owners sweep the poop and pee off their porch and down to mine. The managment have talked with them and are aparently trying to find other ways to address the issue since nothing has changed. I wanna call animal control but I don't see what they can do since the dogs are seemingly healthy and fed, just neglected of attention. I just wish people would only get pets if they have the time and abilitlly to actually take care of them, I really dont understand the point of having a pet if its that big of a problem to walk them outside every few hours or just friggin love them and give them attentions. smh
