The last few days have been really rough. My cat has been really lethargic lately and has had some sinus problems. On Tuesday my wife said that he was starting to do a lot worse so we decided to take him in to the vet. I'm glad we did because the vet said he was dangerously anemic due to blood loss. I had no idea he was in danger of that because I didn't see any major cars on him and I did not he was having that bad of a problem with fleas. He said that he was in critical condition and would probably need a blood transfusion if he did not get any better. He didn't. When we got home he just laid down under my computer desk. He drank a little out of the bowl that was right beside him, wouldn't eat and didn't have the power to make it to the litter box. That night we called told the DR his condition and he said he wanted to do a blood transfusion at 8 the next morning. Cool. 6:30 the following morning we get a call from the vet. He couldn't find any cat blood so he couldn't do the transfusion. They said there is one place that could help but the price was beyond out of our price range. I was freaking out. Latter I called the vet and asked them if there was anything else they could give us asides from the antibiotics to help and they said they had some pain medicine. Also they told me that it would take a while for him to be fully healed so as long as he was drinking that was a positive sign. That calmed me down. Up until then I was convinced he was about to die. I went got hem the pain medicine and after that he started to get more active. He started being more alert and last night he stopped drinking out of the bowl beside him and started drinking from the bowl he normally drinks from. he seams a lot more alert too. I know he is not out of the woods yet but at least now he seams to be heading in a positive direction.
Very glad to hear he's starting to show signs of improvement, always scary when you don't know what's going on with them.

I'm glad he's doing better and he's lucky to have such a caring owner!!!

Sitting at a gate at the Oakland airport because of weather that has shut down the Las Vegas airport. Could be fifteen minutes or two hours or who knows.

You poor cat. I am glad he is getting better. Sending good vibes his (& your) way.

That was me both Tuesday & Thursday. They warned me I might have to spend the night in the Baltimore airport. I said fuck it, and luckily it all worked out. Just some long ass days.

They are reboarding the people who got off now, so we are hopeful that we will be on the way within an hour.
Thanks beebee, tЯist♡n, crazykittensmile, Son of a Beek & custeph. We took him to the vet for a follow up today and things are looking a little better. His hemoglobin level is the same (thankfully it has not dropped any more) and he's gained a half a pound. The vet also gave him some medicine for nausea and kitty Remeron for his appetite. We've also started mixing soft food with water and have been feeding it to him with a syringe because he still won't eat. But on the plus side today he was the most active he has been since he became sick. He has been getting up to walk every 30 to 45 minutes and for the first time since Monday or Tuesday he laid on mt chest for a little bit. I'm still worried about him not eating. And he will sit with his face right over the water bowl. Not drinking just looking at it. It's really weird.

One of my friends was involved in a hit and run. Thankfully his injuries are very minimal (fractured toe and bone bruises). But still - what the fuck. How do you not stop your car after hitting another human being? Even if you didn't know, how do you not hear the noise of something rather large hitting your vehicle and go "Hm. That's weird, I should check it out"?

I am sorry about your friend, and I am glad that he is ok. I hate people, they suck. Ugh.
My wife i taking our cat to the vet for the third time. He's now looking a lot worse. He sounds like he is in a lot of pain and he can barely walk. We're afraid they are going to have to put him to sleep. If you're the praying' or good vibe sending type me, my wife and my cat definitely need it right now.

Thanks. My wife called right after I posted that. Thy had to let him pass due to no signs of improvement. He was 16 and the best cat a boy could have.

Fuck, Suriel. I'm so sorry. Losing a beloved pet is harder than losing a lot of people. You did everything you could for him and he was lucky to have you.
