Go see it! This is an AMAZING movie! I really liked it...funny when it needed to be, serious when it needed to be. The lead character was the perfect mix of sweet and sarcastic. AND anybody with an "indie-rock" leanings will probably appreciate Juno's taste in music and her style. It's just really great.

Very cool - and I know some seriously fun loving lawyers who are definately 'roo material or at least - have been converted to 'roo material - LOL
Ha. Isn't there an "attornaroo" floating around this board somewhere? Just goes to prove the point.
I really liked the movie, too. Though I think that Michael Cera was kind of wasted and it got too predictable at times. The whole "indie rock" aspect seemed a bit forced at times, like it was used in an attempt to score cool points rather than centrality to the plot. However, my biggest laugh of the whole film came from that crack Juno made about Sonic Youth.

Its possible that Michael Cera was a little wasted due to his screen presence but I think the story that we're watching he really is just the foil to Ellen Page.
But I do agree that the "indie rock" aspect feels like it gets too much focus for the plot and is more of an attempt to keep the movie relevant in the target audience's mind.
Yeah, he didn't really have a big screen presence, and I can't say he's got a wide range playing many varied roles. Idunno... I went into that film thinking he was going to at least be the male lead and that wasn't even the case.
i finally saw it. it was really good. juno is hilarious. i was glad you guys sorta warned me that michael cera wasn't really a main part. otherwise, i think i would have left disappointed.
and juno's relationship w/ the guy going to adopt her baby [can't remember his name, think it was mark?] ... well, those two were kinda creepy together. i was getting a little worried about where that was going.
oh, and I didn't appreciate Juno's opinion of Sonic Youth. haha

I just got back from this. I really enjoyed it, actually. And I really dug the soundtrack, as corny as the songs may have been... stilll cool in my book.
I'm 3/3 in good movies I've seen the past 2 weeks... That rarely happens, there's always some crapjob flick that I see that totally disappoints me it seems. hooray for good movies

Saw this earlier tonight, and was suprised at how funny it was. Also expected Michael Cera to have a big role, but i wasn't too disappointed that he didn't, the story was clearly about Juno. I thought most of the soundtrack was absolutely perfect, and only a few songs seemed a little forced, also loved the crack on the Sonic Youth. ;D Definitely suggest this movie, if you use Cat Power during an emotional scene, you at least got one thing right.
This is the first movie I had a chance to watch in entirety since I started work at the new theatre. With that being said, great film! Also, it is good to see that the Moldy Peaches are getting some love in the soundtrack
I think i'll see it sunday night, I hope it isn't another overrated and pretentious garden state.
aw come on - i absolutely love garden state, but i can see how it's not for everyone. but that movie will forever be interwoven with memories of an amazing period of my life for me. i really want to see juno (and be kind rewind), but unfortunately they'll probably both have to wait a while.
oh, and speaking of lawyers, i just got this email and i think it's pretty funny...not sure how true it is, but funny nonetheless.
"A Charlotte, North Carolina lawyer purchased a box of very rare and expensive cigars and then insured them against fire, among other things.
Within a month, having smoked his entire stockpile of these great cigars and without yet having made even his first premium payment on the policy, the lawyer filed a claim against the insurance company.
In his claim, the lawyer stated the cigars were lost "in a series of small fires." The insurance company refused to pay, citing the obvious reason that the man had consumed the cigars in the normal fashion. The lawyer sued and WON!
In delivering the ruling, the judge agreed with the insurance company that the claim was frivolous. The judge stated nevertheless, that the lawyer "held a policy from the company in which it had warranted that the cigars were insurable and also guaranteed that it would insure them against fire, without defining what is considered to be unacceptable fire" and was obligated to pay the claim.
Rather than endure lengthy and costly appeal process, the insurance company accepted the ruling and paid $15,000 to the lawyer for his loss of the cigars lost in the "fires".
NOW FOR THE BEST PART!
After the lawyer cashed the cheque, the insurance company had him arrested on 24 counts of ARSON!!!
With his own insurance claim and testimony from the previous case being used against him, the lawyer was convicted of intentionally burning his insured property and was sentenced to 24 months in jail and a $24,000 fine.
This is a true story and was the First Place winner in the recent Criminal Lawyers Award Contest.
ONLY IN AMERICA !
No wonder third world countries think we're nuts."
oops! Looks like I typed faster than my brain works. I meant that I like The Carpenters even when not being covered by Sonic Youth. I love the cover too.

this was pretty cute movie. it had some immature humor at times, understandably of course, to appeal to younger audiences (let's say...middle school?) but hey, so does nacho libre and that movie rawks!
i can't remember any tag lines right off the top of my head...so i guess it wasn't really memorable....but i guess i am a stoner so take that as you will.
btw, props for the soundtrack...belle & sebastain! yay!!!
i went to see it the other day with my gf and roommate, my gf and i loved it, my roommate said it was the worst film he's seen all year, but i expected as much from him
i think michael cera played a great supporting role, he was the best part of superbad for me
and juno was one of the best teenage girl characters that i've seen since the movie thirteen

I just saw Juno for the second time last night, and it was just as good the second time around as it was the first. "Your eggo is preggo, Home Skillet..."
