I got my call back... final interview set for 10:30am on Tuesday! Woot! She just told me that I'm basically hired. She said she likes me, the assistant likes me, the other director likes me, and she doesn't see why the VP wouldn't like me too. Yessss!

Healthcare recruiting, mostly RNs, CNTs, & LPNs. Oh man, the company is legit. Big on family and teamwork. This is exactly the type of company I want to work for!
Today the Knox County judge sentenced my cousin's murderer to an additional 50 years that he must serve (in addition to the 51 years already given!) before he's eligible for parole. So YAY for having him incarcerated so he can never hurt another soul. But *sigh* it can't undo what was done. www.knoxnews.com/news/2012/feb/23/judge-stacks-50-years-onto-life-term-in-slaying/
Thanks to tacobandit for alerting me to this news. Life is short, y'all: live every day & love every one.
So the CFO of our division at work is leaving (on good terms) so they are throwing him a going away party. They're shutteling us to Dave n Busters tonight from 5pm - 8pm. Free food buffet, free drinks (including alcoholic), and gaming cards with unlimited credits on them!
I can't wait to make some little kids night when I dump the thousands of tickets ive aquired on him.
Dude I haven't been to DnB in forever! That's awesome! When school is close to finishin' I'm gonna treat myself to the one nearby.
So tonight I talked a dear long-time college friend into possibly going to 'Roo for the 1st time this year. We hadn't seen each other in ~20 years. Last fall, we reconnected and went to 2 shows together. My music addiction has rubbed off on her!
Tonight we talked about music over dinner and I told her about how awesome all the Inforoosters are. I told her about the QSAROO scholarship and Brunch and about Matt and the CarpeDMs and his tree. She heard about MikeD's famous pool parties, and about Roo-tus and gatherings and about all the places we've shared fun times together.
Over the next few hours, she saw tons of pics I have with many of y'all from different shows & festivals. Then she said *the coolest* thing: "This is your tribe, isn't it?" And of course I was like, "Yep, that's them. They're family and I can't imagine life without 'em."
Before I knew it, she pulled up her laptop & joined Inforoo, got a personal guided tour thru all the threads, started listening to & discovering new artists on the Spotify playlist, and is now insanely excited to experience it all, *plus* see Radiohead live.
YAAAAYYYY for having a really happy Monday that included Inforoosters (veterans & noobs!) from start to finish.
I swear y'all...great friends & great music make life so much sweeter.
Hooray! What will you be doing? Does it sound like a decent job?

The largest of "yay's" and unending "Thank You's" are in order for Mr. Joe Ricci, math teacher at Chardon High School and a genuine hero as of this past Monday. What happened at Chardon High School this past Monday morning is tragic and sad.
I place my "location" in my avatar on this board as Cleveland, OH because its more recognizable than my current hometown of Eastlake, OH or the town where I grew up, Chardon, OH. I graduated from CHS in 2002, I attended both Chardon Middle School and Chardon High School. I had Mr. Joe Ricci as a math teacher for 3 years in a row at CHS; Advanced Algebra II, and Honors Calculus I and II. Mr. Ricci is a truly great guy, he cares for his family and he cares for every person that walks into the school where he teaches.
When I was his student, he was very open about the flak jacket he kept in his closet in his classroom. It was 2000 and about one year after the Columbine shootings. He told our class that he wasn't about to take any chances and that heaven forbid if anything like that happened in our school, that he had a plan, and that he wasn't going to stand by and hide when he could help. We laughed and thought he was kinda crazy, he laughed too. But he also said that we can't just assume immunity, and that he would be there to help in the unlikely event occuring.
This is Mr. Joseph Ricci. On Monday, 2/27/12, alleged 17 year old T.J. Lane of Chardon, Ohio brought a .22 caliber hand gun to CHS and opened fire in the cafeteria. Three students that were shot in the cafeteria have all passed on as of yesterday.
One of the students that was shot was Nick Walczak, and he ran from the cafeteria down the hallway where Mr. Ricci holds his homeroom and respective classes every morning.
This is repeated in several news articles.
"Meanwhile, Joe Ricci had just started his math class when he heard shots and ordered his students to "lockdown". According to a student witness, when Ricci heard moaning outside his classroom he put on a bullet proof vest, opened the door, dragged a wounded student, Nick Walczak, into the classroom and administered first aid."
Nick's nephew has stated that Nick underwent surgery at Hillcrest Hospital and is doing well at this point in time.
Thank you, thank you, thank you Mr. Joseph Ricci for being brave enough to help this young man. I'm truly sorry for laughing at and doubting your reasons for keeping a bullet proof vest in your teacher's closet.
YAY! YAY! YAY! YAY!

Thank you for sharing that Duddits. I'm really moved by that story.
(My yay seems menial now, but I'll share anyways. I found out my compensation package for my new job this morning. I get two weeks vacation right off the bat - prorated for starting in March) which means I can go to Bonnaroo and Harvest with no worries!)
YAY my BF didn't die 10 years ago today when he got all shot up (fo' realz, he wants to celebrate, and I could not find a greeting card for this occasion).
