Here's my thought process: I usually don't even read texts when I am in the car so I wouldn't use it while driving. I text at work...obviously I'm not going to advertise that... At home I always have background noise on whether it is television or music.....would I have to turn all that down? Cause by now I might as well just type it....

My best friend lost his job last week and his last day at work was this Tuesday. Well, I gave someone a call and he can start work on April 10th at his new (and better) job.
Speaking texts?!?! What is this magic you speak of???? It sounds like the Devil's work!!
I must investigate!!! To the mobile computing emporium!!!
The iOS assistant, Siri. She's amazing.
You guys, Siri can't understand me. I certainly do NOT have a massive southern accent. I've even been asked "you're not from around here are ya?" when IN my own STATE. ...so Im not sure why Siri can't get what Im saying. i.e. right now I will say the following: "Hey Im not going to make it on time, traffic is super awful right now." and here's what Siri heard: "Hey am I gonna meet downtown traffic is super format now." I am in a SILENT office with no back ground noise. wtf???
and back to the subject at hand - YAY for Manders friend! And YAY it's almost the weekend, and YAY that Im NOT going out of town and can enjoy my ATL, and YAY that I may go see The English Beat tomorrow night!!!

Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
So today the university just released our Freshman Orientation Summer schedule...and the first one happens on 6.7 when I'LL BE ON DA FARM!!! WOOOHOOOO!!!
That's a huge YAY!!! for not having to help orient & advise several hundred clueless freshmen who A.) typically have one or more helicopter parents in tow; B.) are too busy texting to pay attention and therefore will C.) ask me the same damn questions when they're equally clueless sophomores.
(The one downside of this Yay? My only summer employee is going to AllGood during the last orientation session, leaving me stuck with the last bunch. There's my payback!)

So, yeah, the lovely Phi entered the Wednesday Grab Bag for AC Entertainment today where they were giving away two tickets to the Mastodon/Opeth show in Knoxville next month. He pulled out the victory and then gave the ticket to me for my birfday. Thanks, buddy! I guess I will have to actually call him Phi for a while.
All week was stressing because stupid college was honestly trying to RU screw me again and force me to take a summer course, resulting most likely in loss of job and family disownment. Finally ran in to a cooperative understanding Dean who helped me out and got my minor requirements fulfilled. Thank god and YAYYYY I GRADUATE AT THE END OF MAY
I passed my Live Sound Concert Setup/Takedown practical exam the other night! Only a few more classes to go until school is over! YYYAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY!!!
Wooohooo! I finally got a fucking job! I've been unemployed for an astounding 1 year, 7 months and 3 days. It's at a daycare and the pay sucks, but it's still a job! I'll start looking for another job in September so I can get several months of work under my belt because I'm pretty sure I don't want to do this daycare gig long term.
This also means I can officially get excited about Bonnaroo!!! I've not let myself get too excited about it because I wasn't sure if I would even have enough money for the drive there and back. If I didn't have a job by the end of April I was going to sell my ticket. I was convinced just last week that there would be no Roo for me this year. This is nothing short of a miracle for me.
YAY #1. I had a doctor's appt (YAY #1.5: lost 7lbs since last visit!) and my co-pay is $25 when I see the doc instead of her LPN. At checkout, they said, "OK, that's it - we'll see you next month!" NO CHARGE! Since I'd budgeted $25 for that visit, I treated myself to a book, a latte & an orgasmically sinful slice of red velvet cheesecake (no calories since it was my b'day!) and STILL only spent $24.12! UNDER BUDGET FTW!!!
YAY #2. While in the bookstore, I saw Christopher Moore's new book that had come out THAT DAY! I was about to buy it when a dear friend called & said he's sending it to me as a b'day prezzie!
YAY #3: I got 3 bottles of VERY good wine from colleagues. This Friday is a state holiday, so if I drink w/lunch, it'll be like I'm getting paid to drink wine! That's AMAZEBALLS!
YAY #4: One of my favorite new bands (Of Monsters and Men) released their full-length album yesterday. Yay for having new tunes instead of a 4-song sampler! YAY #5. I got last month's electric bill yesterday...it's a whopping $40.32!
^ Life totally gave me one of these yesterday! (the high five, not the fat cat!) ;D
I really wanted Graham Swift's new one (Wish You Were Here) but instead I finally jumped on the Game of Thrones bandwagon after putting it off for years. All this talk of winter coming had piqued my interest. I must see what the fuss is all about! (Then I can watch the show!)
In January I was fired from my job as an assistant manager at Chipotle. My boss at the time was 24 (i'm 26), male, and awful. He hit on every cute girl that came in, and hired only pretty ones. He also made a habit sleeping with employees, and acting cocky as hell about it. He was always making sexual comments, acting like a horny frat guy around his employees. I obviously didn't like or agree with this, and confronted him about it, more than once. My firing came a day after we got into a huge fight about his habit of sleeping with the 18 year old employees. He's such an asshole that he contested my unemployment benefits, even though I never broke any company policies or rules.
here's the YAY....
I just found out that 2 weeks ago, someone called HR and told them about him. When the investigator came out, EVERY employee said the same thing, that he was a pig. The asshole is now GONE. I have a rock solid case to get my benefits back, and might even have a chance at getting my old job back.

I don't know about the old job back, but I Would sue the shit out of them.

I'll give you the same advice I give everyone about Game of Thrones. Don't get too attached to any character.
Side note: I love how Game of Thrones (the name of the first book) has replaced Song of Ice and Fire (name of the whole series) as the name the series is referenced by since the TV series came out.
Edit: Karma kicked your old boss square in the nuts, didn't it, Katy?

AHHH yay! I just finished the first book this past weekend! When you are done, we should discuss.
