Me:
1) Virgin Festival Baltimore, MD August 7,8, 2007 -Just a good time straight up. Saw Ben harper, Matisyahu, Bad Brains, The Pumpkins, Regina Spektor. Good stuff. Set up nicely.
2) Black Crowes with Jimmy Page Palace of Auburn Hills June 2000 - Self explanatory:)
3) Iggy/ Stooges, Sonic Youth, Von Bondies Detroit 2003 Reunion -Just plain crazy, rent the dvd if you can!
4) Radiohead with Kid Koala Toronto Skydome 2003-Really awesome show, got great seats, awesome performance, first time seeing them, and last sadly.
5) Blind Melon St Andrews Hall Detroit, MI Oct. 1995-A complete fluke that my older brother took me, but turned out to be really great and sadly nostalgic.
You guys? LIMIT IT TO 5! I know it's hard lol

You're right... this is hard. Here's an attempt:
1. Eric Clapton w/ Robert Cray 2. Ryan Adams & the Cardinals @ The House of Blues, Myrtle Beach 6/11/05 (side note about this one... Ryan came on stage an hour and a half late because he was too belligerent and his manager wouldn't let him on stage because he could barely stand up, and when he finally came out to a relatively upset crowd he pulled a bottle of wine from behind an amp and said "Sorry I'm late... I promise I'll make it up to you... Cheers!" and swigged the bottle. He then proceeded to play for 4 straight hours... ) 3. The Flaming Lips @ Roo 07 4. The Decemberists @ The Norva 4/1/07 5. The Machine @ JMU 12/6/07 (This lands on the list both because it was at my college, so super convenient... and I was taken away by how accurate they were to Floyd. My friend Lucy helped point out how farking incredible the music and light show was too... )
1. Radiohead/Beck/Amadou & Mariam/Buddy Guy @ Bonnaroo, Manchester, TN 6-17-06 2. Joanna Newsom w/Austin Symphony Orchestra @ Riverbend Centre, Austin, TX 10-27-07 3. The White Stripes @ Next Stage, Grand Praire, TX 06-26-03 4. Last of the Breed Tour: Willie Nelson/Merle Haggard/Ray Price/Asleep at the Wheel @ The Backyard, Austin, TX 3-17-07 5. Curiosa Festival: The Cure/Interpol/The Rapture @ Smirnoff Music Centre, Dallas, TX 08-14-04

1. ween at the minnesota zoo July 1999 (by far the most fun i've ever had at a concert, one guy jumped on stage to sing and was hauled off by security, another guy started climbing the scaffolding and security beat the crap out of him, ween covered hot for teacher, it was wild)
interpol at first avenue Oct 2004? (i've never been so squashed in my life, i thought i was going to pass out, the guy in front of me whom i was pressed against the entire time offered me breakfast , it was so much fun!)
lcd soundsystem/arcade fire at roy wilkins in st. paul Sept 2007 (INcredible! arcade fire was phenomenal!)
squirrel nut zippers at the state theater in minneapolis (again, insanely fun. seated venue but people were swing dancing in any little space they could find)
brmc/the rapture at the quest in minneapolis Apr 2004 (danced my butt off, the rapture really got interactive with the crowd, danced my butt off, yeah i said that twice)
runners up (also in no particular order)... sons & daughter/clinic at the fine line in minneapolis Oct 2004 the cure at the target center in minneapolis July 1992 white stripes at roy wilkins in st. paul July 2003 white stripes at the orpheum in minneapolis Aug 2005 devotchka at first avenue in minneapolis Nov 2006
Just off the top of my head (in no particular order): 1. Black Sabbath 1/19/1999 Rosemont Horizon in Chicago The reunion tour that no one thought would ever happen; little did we know they'd be touring lots more after this
2. Neil Young 4/15/1999 Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville Neil alone & acoustic at the former Opryland
3. Page & Plant 3/4/1995 The Pyramid in Memphis Awesome show in support of the Unledded album, so they had the whole Indian orchestra with them
4. Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers 8/18/2003 The Orpheum in Memphis I've seen Petty quite a few times, but I had won front-row tix off the radio for this show; my girlfriend & I were literally about 5 feet away from the band; awesome show
5. Al DiMeola 10/14/2006 Germantown Performing Arts Centre in Germantown I've been wanting to see Al for years but he never tours down here near Memphis, so I wasn't about to pass up this opportunity; great show and he's back to electric guitar too which made it extra-special
Other runner-ups: Joe Walsh at Mud Island (great show with Joe acting as crazy as ever) Sammy Hagar at Mud Island (one big party; kinda like a Jimmy Buffett show for hard-rockers) Dinosaur Jr. at the Young Avenue Deli (my ears were ringing for days after this show but it was awesome) Jeff Beck/ Santana at Mud Island (great double-bill; cool to see Beck who doesn't tour that often & Santana tore it up that night) Primus at the New Daisy (awesome to see Primus at this little venue back in the day)
The Who - Tangerine Bowl - Orlando - Fall 1982 This was The Who's farewell tour. It was my first and I thought last chance to see them. Joan Jett and B-52's opened. The B-52's were booed off of the stage. The Who absolutely rocked it.
Prince - July 2nd 2004 - Essence Fest - Louisiana Superdome. We had 17th row seats. It was an incredible performance.
Gov't Mule - May 2003 - Saenger Theater New Orleans - The Deepest End concert. I've seen The Mule about twenty times but this show stands alone. About thirty of the best bassists in the world all jamming with The Mule. They played for 6 hrs. This was after going to Jazzfest that day and seeing Third World, The Funky Meters, and Widespread Panic.
Ornette Coleman - New Orleans Jazzfest - April 2003 - He was joined on stage by local luminaries Alvin Battiste and Ellis Marsalis Jr.(Winton and Branford's dad). These three old cats played with such virtuosity and passion it was jaw dropping. After the show, I met Derrick Trucks who was digging the same show.
The Kinks - fall 1980 - Curtis Hixon Hall Tampa - This was only my second concert and The Kinks showed me how it's done. I had a tiny girlfriend who sat on my shoulders for most of the show.
REM - Phillips Arena 2004 - Last show of the tour and they killed, played the whole Chronic Town EP as part of the encore.
MMJ - Bonnaroo 2006 - Such a badass show, that I was not expecting at all. Covering the Stones, The Who, Flying Burrito Bros, Velvet Underground was just the icing on the cake.
Black Crowes - Tabernacle 2005 - I went to 3 of the 4 nites they played there and it was insane.
Pearl Jam - Lakewood Ampitheatre 2003 - Just an incredible performance, they were on fire from the start to the end of the show.
Levon Helm - Ryman 2007 - Probably the best out of all of these...... Emmylou Harris, Sheryll Crow, John Hiatt, Lee Roy Parnell, Ricky Scaggs, Sam Bush and more ended up guesting with him that night. I swear one of these days I'm gonna make it up to Woodstock, NY and goto a Ramble up there.
moe. - bonnaroo 2006 - might have been the extra sensory sounds i was hearing but this possibly changed my life
widespread panic - memphis 2006 - last show ever at the MidSouth coliseum. was about 100 degrees in the the coliseum and one of the best 2 nights of my life.
sound tribe sector 9 - memphis 2007 spring - thought i was a bird and the music was the wind pushing me by the wings in to the skies. i closed my eyes and the music absolutely moved me. un-freaking-believable
gov't mule - ROO 07 - only saw about the last 1/2, but this blew me away. i didn't even realize that JPJ was up there (i was in the back) but warrens guitar always makes me want to kick up some dirt
minivan blues band - pepsi pavilion on beale st - memphis TN - there were maybe 30 people here, and my group was about half of the crowd. we were all groovin, the band was playin for us right up front.
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
Yeah, man, Minivan Blues Band are great! I've seen them a few times and they always seem to put on a good show. Maybe they should put them in one of the "bar-tents" at the Roo this year.

1. Tool - Lateralus tour 2001 @ Orlando Arena 2. Roger Waters - Dark Side of the Moon Tour 2007 @ Ford Amp in Tampa 3. Nine Inch Nails - With Teeth warm up tour @ Tabernacle in Atlanta 4. Stone Temple Pilots - 2002 tour that I think turned out to be their last @ Hard Rock Live Orlando 5. A Perfect Circle touring in support of 13th Step in 2004 @ Hard Rock Live Orlando

the dead - deer creek amp 04' gov't mule - roo 07' Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - Riverbend Music Center 05' STS9 - Roo' 07' Petty - Summerfest 2004, my first concert
5. My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult - Nashville, '07. (Musically, probably not the best concert I've seen, but definitely the most fun. All of the songs covered were there darker, earlier stuff, so it was great...)
4. Ornette Coleman - Bonnaroo '07 (Only 45 minutes, but I'd be damned to find and 45 minutes better. Life changing.)
3. Beck > Radiohead - Bonnaroo '06 (The combination of these two performances were awesome. Beck was so fun, everyone was dancing. Radiohead was fun, but mesmerizing. Great balance, for probably the single best night on the main stage in the years I've attended Roo)
2. Tortoise - Bonnaroo '07 (Best musical exhibition I've ever seen. These guys blew me and my friends who were fans away. The people with us who had no clue? They were blown away, too.)
1. Nine Inch Nails (opening with Death From Above 1979 and Queens of the Stoneage) - Atlanta, '05 (What I would like to consider my first "real" concert, this is my fav still. NIN played a heavy, high energy set, interspersed with some mellower, more intimate moments. QOTSA were awesome, though I'm not a big fan. They were definitely great, though. And Death From Above... such a shame these guys called it quits... at least I got to see a great, great band that is no more.)
Worst Concert I've Ever Attended: Fallout Music Festival, Columbia, SC '03. (This was my first concert experience, and I didn't have another until NIN in 05. This was terrible. The line up? The ones that spring to mind are Powerman 5000, Rooney, Eve 6, Hoobistank, and Zugg Island. And some more bands that I've totally blocked from my mind. Eve 6
Honorable Mention: Alice in Chains(w/new singer) - Myrtle Beach, 06. (Yeah, it was that good.) Aerosmith - Charlotte, 05. (All but 5 songs in the whole 2 + Hour show were from the first 5 albums.) Dungen - Bonnaro 06. (Didn't see enough of it, but what I saw was among the best music I've ever experienced live.) DJ Shadow - Bonnaroo 07. (Fun, fun show. The crowd was the best.) Tool - Bonnaroo 07. (Great show. Tom Morello's appearance was enough to give it legendary status, IMO.)

4) Phish 8-9-98. Terrapin Station encore. Sweet Jebus.
I saw the show the night before that at Merriweather Post. G. Love opened for them I believe. Great great show that I kind of forgot about because it was so long ago.....They played Sabotage as the encore that night ;D I guess I should add to my list "Every Phish show I went to".....
1. REM August 1999 2. Brand New/Kevin Devine & The godd**n Band/ Manchester Orchestra April 2007 3. Superjam Bonnaroo 2007 4. Motion City Soundtrack 2003-2007 [Pretty much any time I see them, they are electric.] 5. Ted Leo & The Pharmacists and Death Cab for Cute 2006

5) Devendra Banhart Bonnaroo 2006. First time I saw Devendra Banhart, on the almighty farm! It was amazing.
4) Girl Talk/Dan Deacon/White Williams Asheville, NC 9/27/07 Pure fun. That's the only thing that needs to be said.
3) Gogol Bordello Bonnaroo 2007. The sleeper hit of the festival, in my opinion. The show was just so much fun. Even if you didn't like the music, the energy and presence of the band more than made up for it.
2) Nine Inch Nails/Queens of the Stone Age/Death From Above 1979 10/31/05 in Nashville, TN First off, the show was in Nashville, my favorite city. Second, it was on Halloween. The only way to begin to explain this show is to say raw power. It was the most visceral, agressive concert I've ever been to, and I loved every minute of it.
1) Radiohead. Bonnaroo 2006. This show, to me, was a religious experience. It went beyond just being a concert. I can't even begin to explain it. Almost life changing.
