Dudezer - please tell me that your use of the word "drawbacks" was intentional...
I wasn't circumcised as a child and we never even thought of doing it to our son either. I've never had any hygiene issues and (while it's not exactly a clitoris) it is the source of significant sexual pleasure. I had a friend who was getting repeated STDs and was advised to have an adult circumcision and he regretted it as he lost a lot of sexual feeling - plus it didn't stop the STD's, he just had to learn to stop being a slut.
I am a mommy of two boys. I've been there. The first one i chose not to. By the time he was 2 he had more than few infections. I made the choice to have it done. It was the right thing to do for us. The second one i just had it done when he was a baby. There was a nurse who gave him a drop of Tylenol before the procedure and he only cried for about 5 minutes.
Neither one remembers it. both are healthy. It's personal choice but that's my story.

I'm a girl, so I have no idea. Most of my guy friends and past boyfriends were circumcised...my one guy friend who isn't actually likes it and brags about it to most people...I don't know why.
The guy you guys are trying to remember is named David Reimer. He killed himself eventually. Quite a sad story...we study him a lot in my psych classes.

I consider female circumcision equivalent to cutting of the head of the penis, because that is where most of the sensation comes from. And when I mean head I mean the HEAD not the foreskin.
Also a lot of articles talk about fathers wanting their sons to be like them so when a boy eventually asks about the penis he doesn't feel like he is different from his father.
I'm circumcised and I am happy with it I dont think I would want it any other way. The amount of stimulation I get is enough for me and I believe that
"I want you to notice When I'm not around You're so fücking special I wish I was special But I'm a creep I'm a weirdo What the hell am I doing here? I don't belong here" -Radiohead
“Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.” -Benjamin Franklin
sorry to double post but I dont think we need to even think about female mutilation (it shouldn't even be called circumcision), it's disgusting in my opinion and I think people who practice it should be jailed

I'm sniped and fine with it. My buddy at work isn't, it has lead to some jacked up talks about it.
My sister-in-law decided not to have it done when my nephew was born. He was fine until he got older and got infection on top of infection. Little boys don't clean right most times. So when he was 7 or 8 they gave his little guy a snip. For a week he kept telling us "It's broke, the doctor broke it."
I just asked my fiancee about it she said she would want our future little boy to get snipped. I asked her why. This is a direct quote, "So he has a pretty penis and won't scare girls with it."
My future child will be running around with his winky out scaring people.
My older sister didn't have either of her son's circumcised because she felt the exact same way that you feel. If they want to get it done later in their life then it will be their own decision to go through that pain and for their own reasons. I think it's so stupid that people do it and I am totally against it too, even if I do like it circumcised more. I know that my cousin and her husband had different beliefs on circumcision and when that happens it's hard, what do you do? I believe they got it done in the end. Sadly...

ok so i just noticed this and i have to say the not to mention the medical reasons for doing it. i would say the it would save your kid from ridicule. i have a long time friend who's nickname is skin, can you guess why? how do you think it feels for him to explain that to a girl everytime they ask how'd you get your nickname. not to mention to ponting and laughing the accompanied it when the name first came to be. the kid will forget what happened don't worry about it!
