I am about to say "screw it" and turn in my application to Manifest... if they pee test, I can pass... I have before.
If I can pass a test for the courts then surely you can pass yours ;D
Oh, I have cheated on many a pee test for the court... and *knock on wood* hopefully these are no different. Probably 5 panel, but all I have to worry about is corn. I don't mess with anything else... that is detectable .

i manage an office for a guy who owns his own business. we got a check today that was supposed to be for $7,000, but was made out for $6,000. on the back where you're supposed to endorse it, it says "Upon endorsement, the undersigned does hereby waive and release any liens and claims with respect to and on said premises, on account of labor, skill, service, material and/or equipment furnished to the date of this check"
so basically, if we sign it, we're being screwed out of $1,000. needless to say my boss is pissed at the guy, and is consulting his attorney friend as to whether or not this is legal. anyone know?

I'm no expert on legal matters whatsoever, but if somebody owes someone $7,000 and sends a check for $6,000 I would consider that worth taking to court...

I think it's equivalent to writing "paid in full" on a check. Cashing forgives balance. I would not cash it without attorney approval. If that's acually printed on the check, I would consider stopping doing business with them, I would consider that as a sign they are scammers. (I could be totally wrong,, but I doubt it.)

what a jackass
i'm fairly certain that as long as no one signs it... you could take them to court and get the final $1000.
on the other hand, you may never do business with those jackasses again... but fuck it... it sounds like they were trying to screw you guys anyways...
chopsolutely... i took my wife to the circus on sunday night... she grew up going to the circus her whole life and she loves it... she had no idea, so i surprised her simply telling her, we had "plans" sunday night. Then after that, we went back and stayed at the hotel where we stayed on our wedding night and drank a bottle of Dom Perignon(1998) that was given to us as a wedding present... it was fucking bubbly and delicious.
