Don't know if this has been brought up, and if it has, sorry, but I'm concerned that you email plain-text passwords and that is hugely insecure.
I've been a big fan of the site for some time, and finally decided it was time to register. I was really disappointed that my password was sent to me in plaintext in the activation email. While this alone is unfortunate, it makes me worried that it reflects a larger problem: are all passwords stored in a secure hash?

You will have to go to proboards www.proboards.com for that the mods here did not develop the software it runs on.

could a mod do the kind deed of merging the flaming lips threads? There is one that monkeymonkeyjoyjoy started a while ago and now a new one with a lot of good discussion. any help is appreciated

There will be no merging. Only deleting. I know it's not really fair to monkeymonkeyjoyjoy since she started the first thread, but it's all about where the discussion is at now. If I could have gotten to it earlier we could have kept her thread, but alas, that was not meant to be. But karma for her none-the-less.

That's fine by me. I just didn't want two threads discussing the same thing. Hopefully she understands.....and we can give her credit for being the first to post about it.
Juggs may have brought this up earlier, but is there any way to restrict new members from creating threads until they have a minimum number of posts (maybe Fountain Wader status)? I remember last year, leading up to the festival, we would have new people creating thread after thread about topics that had been discussed extensively elsewhere.
I think this was brought up before, but I cannot find it anywhere and can't remember how people fixed it. Anyway, no matter what page I am on within inforoo, my web address always says inforoo.com. Which means that 1. I can't post a link to a thread, and 2. I cant refresh without going back to the home page. If this just a firefox problem? It just started happening a couple months ago, and it doesn't do that on any other proboards site. Anyone know how to fix it? It's really annoying.

It's my work computer, and it's got a virus I think it's called Antivirus Live, from my research.
Luckily, I don't think it came from inforoo; close to 50 other people in the building have also acquired a virus this week. So it's most likely within our network.

Are you guys planning on updating the Artist Directory Thread, etc., on the "Threads for New Users" Menu on the left side of the homepage. I think a new artist directory thread is warranted to avoid overlap.
When do you go from Showerless Shakedown Vendor to Stanky? I think it's 2500?
I really would just like to stay showerless, I've been that way for years. Guess I'll have to quit posting. Yalls know I mostly lurk anyway.
