I will still probably wait until June for roo, but this is a solid lineup for a festival that draws 15,000.

Damn that looks sweet. EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY!!!! I was thinking about going to this, now I'm going to strongly consider it. Let's see if I can get some of my peeps to go along.
i wanna go so bad.. but from what i hear langerado is a giant pain in the ass. no reentry, music stops at 10. have to drive 20 minutes to get to latenights that require the purchase of an additional ticket. and it takes hours to leave anywyas because of bad traffic so you have to skip the headliner to make it tto a latenight. my sister lives in tampa so i might go down and just get tickets for the late night. the rest of it seems like a lot of trouble to see people i will see at 5 or 6 other festies. but it is a great lineup. i wish they would get it put together right because id love to hit a great festival at that time of year just to give me a fix to make it through until cabin fever and spring hookah

I have heard the same thing from my friend in South Florida. He would have to miss half the headliner if he wanted to make it to a night show. He also said that it was not set up that great, with sound being a problem. Plus, I have never been too happy with the south florida crowds. I think the line-up is good, but it is not extroadinary or out of the box. It seems like a line-up that I have seen before and will see again.
I think if I go, I'd be happy to stay there and not leave for the late night shows. Heresy? Perhaps, but I'm content just chillin out and partying with people at the campsites. The thing I'm worried about is it's probably gonna sell out immediately with WSP OAR and TREY playing.
With WSP's following I can see the festival selling out this year. The festival is tempting, but like others have said, the planning of the night shows sound too much of an inconvenience. I plan on holding out for some of the other festivals (All Good, Coachella, Paloza and of course Roo) next year and see who is playing where.
I love the lineup also. You don't have to go to the Late night shows, thus u can save money, and still see headliner bands.
I can't really think of a definitively better place to hold a better music festival in south Florida. Like, can anyone think of a place that can hold more people and possibly incorporate late night playing past 10 and more camping?
I can't off the top of my head. Maybe there is though?
Here are the additions to Langerado. I just recieced this in the mailThe two that caught my eye were the Pornographers and the Hold Steady...not to say that MMJ is not a bad addition either ;-):
» My Morning Jacket » The New Pornographers » Cat Power and the Dirty Blues Band » Cut Chemist » The Hold Steady
Yeah I didn't realize that camping was extra. It is more then Bonnaroo if you want late nights, which seems ridiculous to me. And there's only 1500 on-site camping spots? WTF
So you're looking at $195 for ticket/campsite correct?
If I ended up going, I'd just have to bite the bullet on the latenights. It would suck to miss the Tea Leaf Green/New Monsoon show, but I'd rather not have to worry about getting around off the grounds after hours. One of the big draws of Roo and big festivals in general, is the fact that there's really no need to leave!
Ok -- I'm fairly certain that I'm going to buy a GA/Camping ticket on Friday. The limited amount leads me to believe that I wouldn't have all too difficult of a time ditching it if I wasn't able to pull it together. Does anybody else have plans for this? It came up on me too quick to find anybody else to commit to this.
I may make a new topic if this goes unanswered but....
Where is the langerado forum? I have it bookmarked as www.langerado.com/yabb/index.php and it gives a 404 error. tried different variations to no avail and I looked ALL OVER the main site and found nothing.
Hope some of these bands end up at Roo this year. I love the lineup, but definitely can't make it. Too much money. Too much work/school would have to be missed. I also heard it is a pain getting there.
Sorry, I should clarify. I've heard it's not convenient to get to from an airport. With my schedule, I wouldn't have the time to roadtrip it down there. Unfortunately, I think the closest airport is a come of hours away and to my knowledge there is no shuttle service.
Hmmm...it's like a 20 minute drive from Ft. Lauderdale Airport.
I suppose if you were flying into a different city though -- yeah, you're right. Depending on how crazy the Spring Break flights will be, I might just have to do that.
Perhaps I was a bit misinformed. I just remember that last year, when I was thinking of going, my ex (who went to Florida State) told me that it is not a convenient place to get too. I haven't thoroughly researched the logistics though, because I see no need to torture myself since I know I can't go
I'm still not absolutely concrete on being able to get down there, but I bought my ticket and will start hammering out plans in the coming weeks. The whole flying for free thing (god bless my girlfriend) is kind of incredible.
