Robert Randolph cancelled... just got this email...
Sunday Gospel with the Lee Boys!
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Robert Randolph and the Family Band will not be able to perform at Langerado this year. But don’t despair because they’ve already confirmed their appearance at Langerado 2009.
"Robert Randolph & The Family Band is excited to announce that they will be entering the recording studio next week to begin work on their next album. The band looks forward to sharing more info about this recording in the weeks to come. Unfortunately, due to this scheduling, they will have to cancel their performance at Langerado. They apologize for any inconvenience, and look forward to seeing you on the road as soon as possible." - Robert Randolph & The Family Band
Taking over Saturday night services will be sacred steel masters The Lee Boys, who will go from performing early Sunday morning to reaaaaaally early Sunday (technically Saturday) morning. Services start at 12:30am so get your gospel on in the Swamp after R.E.M late Saturday night.

yeah damn they could have given it to ghostland, thievery, the roots, msm+w, or they coulda broken up the clusterfuck friday. oh well makes my decision easy
I would much rather them give the Lee Boys one of the earlier slots and give another band a late night shot.....
Yeah, gotta agree with you guys. Cancel a show to go record early? Wtf? Is someone in the band on their deathbed, and they have to record now or they won't ever be able to?
And wooz, as hilarious as it is to find a link to a page with the definition of infinity in Latin, is there a joke behind that?

are the Lee Boys the designated replacement for no-shows @ Langerado???? Last year they stuck them in Rodrigo y Gabriela's slot when they couldn't make it (stupid visa issue), now this...
Either the Lee Boys figure out a how to be wayyyyyy more interesting or they're playing to an empty field, sucks...

Sort've. A friend and past roommate is a latin professor, and also an administrator of the latin wikipedia. So needless to say, he speaks it quite well. Ever been eh... intoxicated.. and had someone speak to you in a different language? Well, he went on this long rant about infinity, in latin, one evening.. and I saw that and had to post it. Its an entertaining read even if you don't speak latin.

I don't know, I was actually kinda hopin' the ground would be frozen and covered by brown/yellow/grey sludge as the wind whipped though the place with a frostbitten verve
