SXSW--South By South West 2008

So I am back from one day of SXSW, I got out there Saturday afternoon and was walking to the Mess with Texas show when I walked by and Digitalism and Chromeo were playing a free show at Stubb's. I did not see that on the lineup anywhere online. So I checked the show out, and Chromeo and Digitalism are both awesome.
Then I went to the Mess With Texas Festival an watched some random bands, (Municipal Waste, Atlas Sound and MAtt and Kim) and one dude told me about a way to get back stage. So when I needed to use the bathroom, and the lines inside were about 40 people long, I went backstage to use the bathroom. Then I got all my friends to come backstage, and we went over to the NOFX stage, and hung out around the band. Once NOFX started we were behind the stage, and some people climbed onto the back railing, and so we followed, and watched the NOFX show on the back railing of the stage.
BEST PUNK SHOW EVER. I was almost giddy with how awesome it was, and I recorded some footage.

So seriously, being on the Back of the stage a NOFX was one of my best concert experiences ever, and the concert was free anyways.
After the show was over we got some food, and decided Stubb's was cool with GZA playing that night, and we checked out NASA (some good dj's), Way lee I think is his name (a decent MC), and then GZA came on and played a bunch of Wu Tang tracks.
Once 2 oclock came around me and my friend went to an after party where my friends band MERCY was playing, and we hung out and drunk free beer until about 5, then went back to his apartment.
To sum it all up, I spent one day at SXSW, the only show I paid or was the GZA show, and I saw some rally good shows and had a blast. It was my first SXSW experience and it was way more awesome than I could have ever expected. I will be going next year for sure.
