First Red Rocks show of the year tonight! Haim with Maggie Rogers and Lizzo. All three acts were fantastic! A great girl power night!
I could see Lizzo every week until I die, and I’d be one happy guy. Maggie played a ton of new songs, all of which make me excited for her upcoming album. Haim were better than expected - full of energy, and their covere of Brandy’s “The Boy is Mine” with Lizzo was so fun!
Scored tickets to a free Death From Above show on Thursday that's being sponsored by one of Canada's soon to be largest recreational marijuana producers. Hope it's as fun it sounds
So this lived up to expectations. I was a bit worried about the crowd since only a few of us were really going when DFA started (coulda been the "pinene"-infused drink samples they were giving out before the show, even though I didn't feel anything), but a couple minutes in there was a full blown pit. I went up like a flare and had to back out after 6 songs, but still enjoyed the rest of the show from just outside the sweatiest section.
I swear Jesse and Sebastien's chemistry just keeps getting better and better. Fifth time seeing them, each time better than the last...
Also, Brandon- if you ended up creating a user name and joining the forum, I'm the guy you met pre-show last night with my cousin. Hope you survived your edibles lol.
We saw Paramore/Foster The People last night. FTP was boring, going through the motions crap, they were better when we saw them a few years ago. Paramore was great. I never thought Paramore would get to the point of playing a 20+ song real deal ampitheare headlining show and me enjoy all of it too? Paramore covered a Drake song that I don't know because I don't listen to Drake (Passionfruit), after the song Haley says "who doesn't like Drake? or maybe you're more of a Pusha T fan" I was one of the very small amount of cheers for Pusha T.

Won free tickets to see John Fogerty/ZZ Top last Wednesday in Indiana.
ZZ Top killed it. Kinda startling how good they still sounded and Billy Gibbons is a beast on guitar. By comparison, I was disappointed in Fogerty. Hearing Creedence songs was cool, but there was a whole lot of new tracks and one particularly sappy tribute to the troops that was just...a lot. Especially when he did a second tribute to the troops before Fortunate Son. I'm glad I went and got those two checkmarks, and I recommend still seeing ZZ Top if you get the chance.

I got to see Blind Melon for the first time in May. I've wanted to see them since I first saw their performance at Woodstock 94. It was a great show! You never know how these things are gonna go when it's not the original lead singer, but I was pleasantly surprised by Travis Warren. I've seen a few other shows this Spring (like Tool, A Perfect Circle, Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, Jack White) and Blind Melon has been the one that was most memorable for me.
11/2/19: Tool 5/17/19: Blues Traveler 5/9/19: Tool 11/10/18: Tenacious D 9/20/18: White Denim 7/23/18: Radiohead 6/4/18: Jack White 5/20/18: Tool 5/18/18: A Perfect Circle 5/18/18: Alice in Chains 5/6/18: Blind Melon

Hello!
Please go see Marius Neset if he comes anywhere near you. You will be fine.
Holy mother of fuck! This guy is the real deal! My GF will occasionally buy an off the wall ticket for something interesting sounding. I thought I was in for an evening of snoozer modern Jazz but my fucking god this guy and his band are mind blowing good! They are on their first American tour and played here in Portland to a crowd of probably less then 100 people. It was pure awesome from start to finish. Crazy funky time shifting master musicianship! If this quartet is playing anywhere near you GO MAN GO!

Saw U2's latest show last night. It was not as good as the Joshua Tree Anniversary Tour, and they even recycled parts from the 2015 tour, but it was still a good time.
Saw Anthony Fantano tonight. Didn't realize I was standing next to TRANTER INDUSTRIES until the very end of the show. Also the guys from Dead End Hip Hop were hanging out there and I got to talk to them.
Saw Ray Lamontagne last night. He’s touring with Carl from mmj right now and damn was that show fantastic. Really heavy on new stuff and got pretty heavy and jammy at some points. Didn’t play any hits and holy shit was the crowd awful because of that. Non stop talking and people yelling Jolene over and over again and I overheard a few people complaining about they paid their money they want hits. One of the most obnoxiously rude crowds but it was a really good show.
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

That type of disruption would ruin it for me, more power to you that you can still consider it a really good show.
Can't think of many times I've been able to say this but the opening band blew them out of the water for me.
Amyl & the Sniffers is an Australian garage punk band with a badass female singer. Crazy slamdancing and crowd surfing that whole set. They were so raw it really caught me by surprise. Heard they are playing Gonerfest in September so hopefully they come back around the coast on the way to or from Memphis.
King Gizzard was fantastic but I couldn't quite get into it like I did at the show last year, which may have been because they played the worst venue in NOLA, The Republic, instead of one of the best ones like last year, One Eyed Jacks.
Really enjoyed the music but never felt the urge to get back in the pit and rage it like I did last year.
They busted out Mystery Jack for the first time in 5 years as well, that was pretty sweet.
Digital Black Vomit Coffin The Lord of Lightning Cellophane I'm in Your Mind Alter Me I Altered Beast I Crumbling Castle The Fourth Colour Deserted Dunes Welcome Weary Feet The Castle in the Air Muddy Water Open Water Sleep Drifter Rattlesnake Mystery Jack (First time live since 2013) Wah Wah The River Robot Stop Gamma Knife

Amyl and the Sniffers are so much fun! Glad you had a good time.

What does the Fantano live show entail? Does he do standup?
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

The Outlaw Music Festival in Noblesville on Saturday was a lot of fun.
Old Crow Medicine Show was their usual selves, lot of fun for an hour. The Head and the Heart was supremely boring. How the hell were they #12 on the Roo lineup last year? Sturgill Simpson killed it, as he seems to do. A lot of covers and songs I was unfamiliar with, but he sounds so good live it didn't matter too much Willie Nelson is a legend and I missed him at Roo 08 so glad to finally see the man. He started off a little wobbley but his picking and singing got better as the night went on. A really good memory to have.
If you have the chance to go to one of these dates, particularly the few that have Neil Young or Van Morrison... Do it. It's a bargain and a great chill day.

It's not really stand up. It's more like the most entertaining powerpoint presentation you'll ever see in your life. He came out as Cal Chuchesta and rapped a couple songs, we played a game of "did Charles Manson say it or did Kanye", he does live segments of what he usually does on Youtube like the stink piece, and there's a Q&A at the end. It's really just an opportunity for fans to interact with him in person. I met a couple of people who drove from out of state to be there.
Saturday before last in Vegas NIN opened with "Somewhat Damaged", and I think it's one of the best possible songs you can open a concert with. the crowd chant of "too fucked up to care anymore" was loud and awesome.
I saw Harry Styles yesterday and it was weird because when he sang I could understand him clearly and then whenever he spoke to the audience I could maybe understand only 20% of what he was saying.
Just got out of Janelle Monae, and holy shit was she good! I seriously don’t understand why she’s not an arena-sized act. Her show was as good or better than pretty much any festival headlining set I’ve seen.
If you have a chance to see this tour, don’t miss it! She played Dirty Computer in full, plus all her old hits.

Her shows have sold out everywhere, right? I'm betting that she'll be in arenas next time around.
Kesha was extremely good tonight. She's been backed by a rock band this tour so there were different arrangements for nearly all the older songs, which was pretty cool. Also more festivals really need to book her.

Last night I saw Courtney Barnett for the first time in 4 years. That first time was at a bar in front of 100 people, last night was probably 1300 people. What a rockstar she's become, so badass! New songs were great and good selection of old material
