I need to better acquaint myself with scalping laws. I saw tix for the New Orleans' show for sale upwards of $100. The tickets cost $25 with a service fee of less than $5. SCALPERS MAKE ME ANGRY.
I offered to sell extra tickets to someone on craigslist who was offering $75 a ticket. When I told her I would sell them to her at face value, she immediately suspected a rip off. So, so sad.
DON'T BUY FROM SCALPERS. This is a pipe dream, but if everyone boycotted scalpers and brokers for just ONE tour, it could make a difference! In any event, I hope you all get the tickets you want.
out of curiosity, i looked at craigslist to see what the supply/demand is like for dc. it's a disgusting sight, really. people blatantly asking $100/ticket, and plenty of others willing to pay that. i can already imagine what this crowd will be like....
I saw ONE ad where a guy was selling for face value after realizing he has classes that night and couldn't make the show. I sent him a response and thanked him for being a decent human being. It's okay, Heather...we'll have each other!
There was this chick on craigslist who was selling 2 for $400 dollars. I sent her a reply telling her she is ripping people off and should feel real good about it. She replied and told me i was right and lowered it to $250. She said she inpulsivly paid $400 for them, but is seeing them in DC instead. A few days later i saw she dropped it to $200.
I'm not going to say I've never paid a scalper, but it's something I would never do again. That's just me doing my small part to rid the world of those beasts. But I understand that people get desperate, so I don't judge.
i've bought tix from scalpers, maybe two times. most recently was for MIA. i'd promised my roommate i'd get tix, slept on it, and next thing i knew, it was sold out. it pained me to do it, especially since i wasn't the one who had my heart set on going.
