i think it would depend on the kid and how able they are to be hot and to wait in lines. i saw some great kids but i also saw a lot of amazing great parents who were totally supervising them. i DID see a lot of drugs but im not sure how much of it an 8 year old would pick up on???? i saw some sexual activity but i would say that this was mostly at night in the tent areas - and again...not sure h ow much a tired hungry 8 year old would really pay attention to that??? or how much an 8 year old would see of the crazy late night behavior?
Anyone know what the re-entry policy is for hotel dwellers? If we want to go back to the hotel and put our 18-month son to sleep and one of us stays there, will one of us be able to get back in to Bonaroo to see the later performances? I'm concerned because he usually goes down around 8 or so - probably just when its getting good...

i think as longa s you have a bracelet - you can go in and out - you would be parking in day parking anyway

Yep you let them know when you enter that you will be Day Parking and they put a big D on your windshield and direct you to day parking - which is right by the entrance. It is about a 10-15 minute walk to Centeroo from there, but very easy to get in and out. They will possibly search your car every time you enter and they will check that everyone in the car has a bracelet.

HOw young do kids go to this? Mine are 3 and 7 and can't imagine bringing them yet
I've seen plenty of people there with tiny babies and all other ages.
It seems to me though that is they are old enough not to be in a stroller, then it would be pretty harsh for them to keep up with all the walking. They would need to be at least 8+ I would think. I think that is the age my daughter was when we saw Phish at Big Cypress and she held up pretty well

My wife and I have a new 4 month old baby boy. I can't imagine bringing him to Bonnaroo before age 4 or 5. I had already planned on not making it this year because of how young my son is. Fortunately I have an awesome wife who realizes just how much I need a place like Bonnaroo to decompress...(she 's not big on camping or heat,or large crowds) So I got the green light to go and our families are going to help her take care of the little guy while I'm away. I will say this however...one of the most memorable moments of last year was when I was standing in line for a drink people watching and I was amazed at the look on this maybe 18 month old that was on her dads shoulders...You could see the gears turning in her little brain as she soaked up all the sights and sounds. It almost brought a tear to my eye. I imagined what that type of scene must be like for a little one. Over all I think it would be a good experience for a kid to have...they would be exposed to great music and creativity, but there are situations that a parent would have to steer little ones away from as well.

I have four nephews and two nieces and my two brothers and my two sisters-in-laws can bring them to Bonnaroo and go family camping down in Manchester, Tennessee.
