She's played Coachella a couple of times. We are going to see her in September at the Fox, and I'm thrilled. I especially love Medulla, which, except for a little bit of piano, is entirely made up of human voices. Any thoughts?
She's one of those I would love to see just for the entertainment value....I'm not a huge fan of her music, but she intrigues me, and I'm sure she puts on one HELL of a show! I think it would be cool.

Its not bjork you have to worry about, its the crazy hordes of trashcompacting bjork fans that will crush everyone in their way. I was at Coachella up close for Bjor this year, and have never been in a crowd so insane. IT was well worth it, but at least 40 people got crowd surfed out from being crushed, fainting or heat exhaustion, including my roommate. Bring it on but hang back unless you are physically prepared for madness. It was so awesome speaking of which, Heres her entire wbcast Coachella performance on google video. video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4213649915759719941&hl=en

Again, I think a Bjork show would be a great soundtrack for a Roo (or any)trip. She's odd, extremely talented, confusing, beautiful and and even unmusical at times....but she's totally original! (and when she says "thank you very much" she sounds just like Andy Kaufman's 'foreign guy'.) I'm not the biggest fan of her records but, I know greatness when I see/hear it...and this weird little forest imp is overflowing with it. She is truly a one of a kind artist....in part, because she is truly a one of a kind person. Odd? Scary? Cute? Adorable? Creepy? Unbelievably talented? BJORK!
If you haven't heard "Medulla" yet, fix that soon. Maybe it won't be your thing but, you won't be able to deny how original and ground-breaking this record is. Everything (but some sparse piano here and there) on this disc is created by human voices! She teamed-up with Rhazell and Mike Patton (and others) to record one of the most original and interesting records ever! Any real music fan should find themselves a copy. It is AMAZING! So again, as long as she's on a short leash, bring her crazy little ass on! (It's cool. I'm bringing pepper-spray. )
Karma for rideincircles for the Coachella clip.

me and my gf has had this debate about her playing Bonnaroo. She says no because she is demanding and doesn't seem to fit the scene. I told her if Beck, Radiohead, and Tool can play Bonnaroo, then there is no limits on who can play. I hope I can prove her wrong next year.

i have already predicted that she will be there. i believe bonnaroo radio playing her on the way into the fest was a hint. but i voted, no, i;m scared she will eat me, because that's funny.

^^^I never heard that either. But it doesn't matter to me. It's disappointing that a great musician would feel that way about another great musician, but it doesn't diminish the former's work any more than it diminishes the latter's (that is, not in the slightest). One might like many disparate artists, but do all those artists need to like each other? In fact it's entirely possible (however hypothetical) that if she were a fan of Dylan, his work would have influenced hers in such a way that limited her ability to push popular music forward in the way she did. Just a thought.

Bjork said blah, blah, blah...didn't Stewart Copeland say...
Miles [Davis], mostly crap. Some of his early records where he had Tony Williams, great, I love those. But mostly it was crap. He was out of tune and he was a fucking junky and it sounded like shit. It was utterly preposterous. The king just wasn't wearing any clothes. Coltrane, same thing. [In a condescending voice] "Love supreme, love supreme" it's a joke.
...opinions are like voices we all have them different kinds...ATCQ said that

Anyone who claims that Bob Dylan has never released a worthwhile piece of music gets a big N-O in my book.
Yeah, I agree. I don't think Dylan is the greatest lyricist or song writer, but he is a damn good one. Saying someone like him has no talent is pretty absurd.
Again, I'm not saying he's the best, nor do I listen to him all the time; however, he has released many worthwhile pieces of music.
SweetevilJesus gave me one of her CDs, and I kind of liked it. The sh*t is downright nuts, but I go respect for it. After reading her comments I lost a lot of respect for her work.

I don't think any silly comments about Dylan could make her music sound any worse to me. I listen to plenty of music made by people I don't see eye to eye with. Her music should be judged on its own merits, not on her opinions.

I said I liked her music. I simply stated I lost respect for her when she made those comments. True, an artist's work should be judged on his/ her work, not his/ her opinion; however, I would expect an artist that broke as much territory and was as influential as Dylan to have a little class.

I still just wanna know the source of the comments... I don't care all that much about what she said, she and Dylan both headlined ACL, and they both kicked ass, regardless of what one of them may or may not have said about the other, so as far as I can see it the comments themselves don't really matter much. I don't want to be friends with Bjork or Bob, I just want them to entertain me. And whatever, opinions are opinions, we all got 'em, and we all got at least a few crazy ones I'm sure... I mean, I see that here all the time, myslef certainly included... I would however like to see this interview or whatever, or at least find out what came before and after these comments and where she was when she made them... you know, to maybe get a better idea of what her intent may have been? Anyway, I just meant this post to be one sentence... sorry, just got some pretty buttery corn in my system over here and I've lost a little control... okay, let's try this again...

Do you see what I'm saying?
Totally. I was responding to people like zdir and 3penguins who said they wouldn't want her at Bonnaroo because of her comment about Dylan.
