I vote not really, but if they were there I'd sit at my campsite and listen to their music (as i'm sure it'd be plenty loud enough to hear all over) while getting some relaxation and food time.
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it

I think there should be an addition to this poll:
Only if Les Claypool and Dave Mustaine were to play with them
If bonnaroo were to pull that off, that would be just short of extraordinary. But other than that lineup, I really wouldnt want them playing there even though I am a fan of there early work.
Edit: This had me thinking. How many Metallica covers have been played at bonnaroo at some point? I know Les, Rod y Gab, and Umphrees have done covers but not sure of anyone else so Metallica did influence a lot of roo artists. Just a thought.
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."
that's a hell yes for me. ive loved metallica for a long time. i kind of quit listening to them after the load and reload incident but they still put on a great live show.
it would be a very interesting show to see at bonnaroo.

I just think this band harnesses too much negative energy, and is strictly a business venture with a sh#tty outlook, I was a huge fan @ one time, but that time has long past, they have been ran into the ground, and now are nothing more than a radio rock band for clearchannel. They suck!!! So I say F@#k No!!!

The only way I am OK with Metallica is if it before a latenight RRFB show . . . in which case I will skip Metallica's set entirely and wait patiently for Robert.

Metallica into late night Mars Volta or Umphrey's, yes please. They could even bring Rod Y Gab out to guest, one of the few bands i see possibly repeating....
