So, a friend of mine and I were chatting on Inforoo the other night about...well...music. And much to my surprise Godsmack came up and we were wondering what the Inforoo communities reaction would be to the err..suggestion....that they play at Roo this year.....so.....Bring It On! Let's see if there are any OTHER closet metal heads out there! It's no secret I'm one of the Heavy Chicks on the board - LOL! ;D And....haters...feel free to voice your distaste...just please...no "They will RUIN Roo" schmeck....we've had enough of THAT stuff haven't we?
Bring it on! I would freakin' love some Godsmack at Roo. I'm thinking afternoon on Which Stage. Like where Wolfmother played. I don't think there would be a huge influx of people there just to see them. Not enough to have an effect on the overall crowd at Roo. I think it would be fun. Rock on.
I think I'd have to be convinced. What I heard after the first album didnt really keep my interest. Though I'd love to have a few good metal acts there.
PS - For all you metal heads that will read this thread, I'm reading Fargo Rock City right now and it is great. I never knew so much about Stryper!
I saw them open for Metallica a few years back and I was surprised at how many songs I recognized (I guess from the radio - I don't own any of their music).
The lead singer totally called out a couple that was sitting at the rail of the upper deck - he harassed them for a good minute or two until they stood up. Heh-heh.
Bring whoever you want....I don't wanna watch Godsmack....but there are 14 stages going at once, so what do I care if they're making some other people happy over yonder....
Godsmack? Well, "Dirt" will be played at bonnaroo at my campsite, but if Godsmack plays on a stage... I would seriously throw up.
Edit: Yes, I know there are many metal heads on here (myself included) but I'd hope none are "closet"... that's ridiculous. Closet Godsmack fans... that makes more sense, cuz you bet your ass I'd hide in a closet if I were a fan of theirs and people knew it.

Nahhhh, Godsmack just rings so hollow with me.
Bring on the stoner metal! Sleep, Bongzilla, Weedeater, Torche, etc.
It's hard to imagine most kinds of metal at Bonnaroo, although it'd be really interesting to see how some crazy thrash would go over. Stoner metal, on the other hand, could definitely find a home.

Godsmack may be the most unorigional band ever. They stole their name, sound and logo from Alice In Chains, (who are themselves overrated IMO). The ringing hollow remark was spot-on. Not for Bonnaroo. Save it for Ozzfest.
