The NFL Football Schedule will be announced today during a special 2-hour show on the NFL Network. Wish I had cable!
I finally get to find out when the MN Vikings are coming down to TN to play the Titans. I've been waiting 10 years for this. The first Vikings-Titans game in TN ever!
Hope it's later in the season. I hate hot weather games.

I heard you can already place a bet on the first Giants-Patriots game of the season. I think the over/under is 36, if I remember correctly.... seems silly to pick anything besides the over there
My Legislative Internship course often has guest speakers. Yesterday, our guest was the lobbyist who was hired by the Packers to run their campaign to expand Lambeau Field about eight years back. It was one of the more interesting speakers of the semester.
Well we'll get to face off early as ESPN's coverage begins with a "Monday Night Football" doubleheader Sept. 8. The Minnesota Vikings visit the Green Bay Packers in the first game at 7 p.m. ET
AACK!! I detect a cheese-head. W/O the mighty #4, are you going to have a season at all?
Of course we will. I don't think Aaron Rodgers looked bad when he came in during that game against the Cowboys. I think we'll do alright. If not, I can at least console myself thinking about how many Super Bowls the Vikings have won...

Just paid for my season tix. Liking what Carolina has been doing in the off season (Landon Johnson, D.J. Hackett). Looking forward to a good, 10 pick draft in a couple weeks.

BEAR DOWN, CHICAGO BEARS MAKE EVERY PLAY PAVE THE WAY TO VIC-TOR-EE...
Da Bears.

Sorry, but I had to... I hate them like no other team.
I won't smite you back b/c I think it's CRAP for smiting someone whose opinion differs from yours. In fact, I've given you karma for your obvious passion for the game I love.
I'm clearly just a more tolerant person who appreciates healthy competition. Maybe it's because I'm involved in a mixed marriage - I'm married to a Packer fan. As long as the ending record is Bears-Packers-rest of NFC North I'm cool.
It's not because my opinion differs from yours. On that basis, I would have given a smite to all those fans of the Vikings and other teams. I'm tolerant of other opinions, to a point - and for me that point is when you pledge allegiance to a Chicago sports team. For the record, that's either the 2nd or 3rd time I've even used the smite in my entire time here.
We both know this isn't any other rivalry, that it's different between the Packers and the Bears than it is between just about any other two teams. This particular rivalry goes back farther than any other pair of teams in the NFL. While there is a healthy competitive rivalry between, say, Packers and Vikings... I've dealt with enough jackass Bears fans (particularly two seasons ago) that I'm pretty much required to be a jackass back. From my experience, it's more like the bunch is rotten than just a few apples.
While I'm at it... fuck the Cubs too. Quit blaming a goat for the fact that they suck.
I'm thinking of scouting ticket through a ticket broker. Has anyone used any of these services before? Which ones are reputable?
I assume StubHub is okay. I've heard some really bad things about TicketsNow. Anyone else have any experience in this area?
I've only gone through StubHub, but didn't have any problems other than paying more than face value. It was worth it, though, because it was the Brewers' must-win game to have a chance at October. They lost, but it was still a great game to be at the game for.
You'll have to go slightly out of your way to pick up your tix at a hotel near the stadium, but that shouldn't be a problem.

A ticketbroker may add some security over a message board, but as you know it will be 2-4 times the face.
You obviously are more likely to find a much better deal than a ticket broker through craigslist or a Titans board, so I would recommend doing that. However, before you try either of those don't give up on ticketmaster.
Try for seats the day they go on sale this Summer (you will have to constantly refresh your browser a few minutes before they go on sale) for the few tickets that teams don't sell as season tickets.
If that fails, try ticketmaster on the Thursday night or Wednesday night before the game. Visiting teams get an allotment of seats and if they are not used they get returned for resale.
You can always still get tickets through a broker on the Friday before the game if you can't score seats through ticketmaster.
I go to a couple of Ravens games every year by buying returned tickets through ticketmaster and from private deals on the ravens' message boards. However this year I'm thinking about buying season tickets (not PSLs) from craigslist if the draft goes well.
I've got a few connection through friends to but I thinking trying to get REALLY good seats which won't be available in single game sales in July. I'd also like about 4 together and that will add to the cost.
The return ticket thing is a good idea. I got 10th row sideline tickets to a Vikings play-off game once this way. Only had 4 days notice to plan a 900 mile trip but it was well worth it to see the Vikes smack the Cowboys in the Play-offs.
Basically just reviewing options and getting used to the costs of each. As you can probably tell, I'm truly psyched to see the Vikings here in Nashville's stadium for the first time (and last time for the next eight years)
Hopefully it's not too hot so I can break out the Viking fur!
The vikings don't have a single cold-weather game this year, what a bummer! I'd love to see them get an outdoor stadium up here in the great white north. All of the people living here have to deal with the bitter cold for about 8 months a year (our last 70 degree day was october 31!!), so why shouldn't our football players show a little toughness? But yeah, i definately hope you can represent the purple in TN by busting out the furs!
For the record, that's either the 2nd or 3rd time I've even used the smite in my entire time here.

First, I hope you know that I was joking about the smiting - I really don't care if you smite me or not.
Second, I have a different view of the rivalry. The Bear/Packer rivalry is a historied one, starting with Halas and Lombardi, based on mutual respect and fair competition. It's special. Much more special than the Vikings or Lions.
It sounds to me like you've had a few negative experiences with some Bears fans. That's too bad. I've had my own with Packer and Viking fans. It doesn't lead me to bitterness toward the franchise or other fans. That's just spreading the hate.
