April 16, 08 -- WIDESPREAD PANIC JOINS BONNAROO 2008 LINE UP! Widespread Panic is pleased to announce that they will close The Bonnaroo Music And Arts Festival, headlining the main stage on Sunday evening, June 15.

at least i'll be able to leave a few hours early. i've seen WSP, but the wife doesn't care much for 'em and, honestly, i'll be too tired for a 4-hour marathon.
I really wish people wouldnt overhype internet announcements.
i really wish internet sites wouldnt over-hype their own additions if they dont actually intend on stepping up to what other fest have brought to the table. if they didnt call it big, we wouldnt have either.

i'd much rather have jack johnson headline sunday night than WSP. This is really dissapointing. I guess Claypool is a pretty good addition, but I'd much rather have Oysterhead or Primus.

no joke. why would adding acts, what they've been doing the past 2 months, especially when they announce claypool, make you NOT want to go?
this is a huge announcement to me and to most people that weren't sure "that roo vibe" would still be active.
i hope all the negative people get pissed enough to sell their tickets and make the farm full of shiny happy people.
I'm a smidge disappointed, I gotta say. Widespread Panic is an alright substitute for the Allman Brothers Band, but not exactly what I had in mind. I wasn't baiting my breath for one of the huge bands that were rumored, but I was expecting something more. Eh. I still think they're hiding a couple tricks up their sleeves.

This whole thing's insane. I'm super-happy to have Les. Adding more bands doesn't mean anything, except that maybe the band you don't want to see will attract people away from the show you do want to see.
Everyone talking about the disappointment? It's your fault, honestly. They just said "big," and they said "exciting." Nobody at Superfly said "hey, you guys should go over these clues on your message board for two or three days, and apply the clues to huge bands you really want to see." Nobody said "big announcement on Thursday to compete with Prince."
I don't mean to sound harsh, but it's true. It was us who took their announcement and ran with it, and now everyone that really got their own hopes up is disappointed.
