I'm wondering when he'll play as well. part of me really wants him to get a latenight spot, but part of me doesnt since I dont want to miss him and there will be conflicts... so yeah, i dont know. the BEST would be les opening the weekend on thurs night in my opinion.
i really believe that he will 100% play with metallica. I was planning on going to metallica for a few songs at least just to check it out, but now i will prob end up staying.
I've seen Les solo, Les with Bob Weir and Ratdog, and with his fancy band. i will be seeing primus at rothbury this summer too. i assume he's playing with his fancy trio at roo so im excited to add the trio to the list!
I saw the fancy band in '06, and I was definetly pleased by his performance. He does a lot of Primus teases, and he seems to enjoy "American Life" on the bassjo. I really do hope that him and Hammett do something together though, it only seems natural. It would be so kickass if he started "Master Of Puppets" off for them

were you at the nokia theatre show???
no one fills in for gabby. i think that's why it went from "fancy band" to "fancy trio" im pretty sure that's the only difference.
well - if anyone has seen Fancy Trio already this year - you may be disappointed. My understanding is that he is playing basically the same set list at each show - so if you saw him at Langerado - that will prolly be the same thing he plays at Bonnaroo. After listening to the Langerado show - it is almost identical to what he played in NOLA
But ya know - it is still Les Claypool and Skerik would make it worth it anyway just to watch the crazy crap he does on the side of the stage while playing

Yes, I had the pleasure of being there. I loved his Whamola jam during that show, and I got the footage up on youtube. I am ashamed to say that once is enough for the Fancy band though, as I am not as proud of it as his other projects. Btw, on a side note,; what are the chances of meeting performers(Ex. Les) at Bonnaroo?
Also, in response to justmeg...i'm not sure but it doesn't seem like he's playing carbon copy sets this year. As per the following link

i think that actual show was on the FANCY dvd, which is pretty cool. It's only like one or two songs, but it's cool to say you were there.
as of now, ive only seen the fancy band and les/rat dog (which was awesome!) so i dont really have much to compare to far as his other projects but i will 95% be at his show. there would have to be a major major conflict for me not to be there.
as far as meeting Les or other performers at roo, sometimes they show up in the audience at other shows but i think thats pretty much it unless you had some sort of backstage pass... which i know nothing about LOL
