We're up to 131 as of now. That includes everyone - stages, tents, comedy, cafe's.
And I didn't count Phil Lesh twice because of his acoustic set.
We have 37 cafe acts and 9 comedy acts.
I've gone back and forth on how I feel about this year's lineup.
But putting all my personal favorites and musical tastes aside, I have to say that I think from the business side of putting on a festival, this may be the best, most diverse, and biggest Bonnaroo ever.
Just realized something, had to add this. The lineup additions are certainly not over. The Whigs still have not officially been announced. More additions will come. Which could take us past 150 acts.
Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting, "Holy sh*t ... what a ride!"
this is such a rookie ? but do they keep adding up until June??? Or there is only ONE more spot left!!!???
they add until you notice on the bonnaroo line up page they'll subtly remove the "More artists TBA" at the end. I would expect to have one more round of additions and then maybe the jazz tent

They have.
ahhh... so it has. I didn't even look before I posted that... i just assumed I would have seen it mentioned on here immediately if it had disappeared. I guess I overestimated the power of inforoo ;D

I still have "more artists to be announced" on the poster on the main page.....but I never noticed it on the lineup page before....more additions or not either way I am plenty satisfied with the lineup....
88 of the acts announced are stages and tenst musical acts. Last year there were 84 musical acts for the stages and tents, 88 if you include dance and burlesque performances. There were 83 musical acts for the stages and tents in 2006 with 1 more performance troupe. 85 in 2005.
I'd say we're pretty much done with big announcements unless they expanded the Thursday format or added a stage or tent we don't know about yet.
Yeah, I agree that the big ones are over, I'm just wondering what they'll do with all the rest.
It does beg the question, when you add Superjam, the Whigs and whatever side show acts they usually put on stages, like we assume they will, where does that space come from?
Are they cutting set times down? Are they starting Thursday a little earlier? Are they expanding Thursday to the Which Stage? Are they adding a tent or stage? I'm kind of confused given the amount of acts they have this year that will likely require longer than normal sets.
One thing I was thinking was that they might start the music a little bit earlier in the day. That'd free up like four or five slots each day.
Edit: To clarify, I think there'll definitely be a couple more on Thursday. I also think it's possible that they'll have another cafe-type tent somewhere.
I personally think there are still two bigger names (TMV and someone else)
and then a few jazz acts.
but i've been wrong before
sorry to burst you bubble but its pretty much in stone that The Mars Volta will not be at Bonnaroo '08. And its also very doubted to get another big name. WSP and Les was the big two you are looking for.
