I have been only once, and it started off awesome just arriving is an experieince in itself. Waiting in line for hours, the anticipation involved, the quick car check for glass, and the lines to the campsite. PI cant wait to bring more friends this year. I will complement my music moments with my videos if you chose to see them.
Thusday the music started off right. Rodrigo Y Gabrielas set was one of the best sets I have ever seen. that was the start of my bonnaroo. Here is what the finale was like if you missed it. One of my favorite videos I recorded.
Then Friday holy Jesusbabies Tom Morello's solo was insane. I was lost in some other dimension, but I managed to record it.
Late night Friday was awesome with DJ Shadow, I watched half of his set then went to sleep listening to him and his last song Midnight in A perfect world has a new meaning to it afterwards. I am not sure what this Shadow song is.
Manu Chao rocked, I totally forgot to post this video. It is quality, whats the name of this song anyways?
Ben Harpers set with Burn one down and Ziggy Marley coming out was awesome. Burn one Down Harper and Ziggy
Another one of my favorite moments was when we were leaving at the end of White Stripes set and I just recorded people walking by during Were Going To Be Friends. i noticed a pirate walking by in this video.
Said and done Bonnaroo was amazing and highly addictive. I cant wait for this years fix, and I am going to make sure and do some of the things I didnt get around to last year like riding the ferris wheel, the silent disco, finding the real shakedown, hanging out with our neighbors, and taking way more pictures. I will definitely record more videos also. 51 days 3 hours 25 minutes away.
^ Damn it, that still makes me happy. What an incredible time that was. Team Excelsior held down the right side of the stage for most of the hour, but we made it to the other side a few times... I've been onstage for quite a few shows, but nothing matched up to the pure "incredibleness" of Gregg's set at Roo 07. I still can't get over the sheer mass of people that packed into and around the tent during the set...
.... but they got taken down . I was in a couple of Clap Your Hands vids of 06, visible in trademarked massive straw hat, and the Ornette Coleman vids (front and center, we were ), which got taken down, respectfully.
*Another one that came to my head tonight at work was the Bonnie Raitt show from '06.... She was fucking HILARIOUS with her raunchy humor and such... the last set of my first Roo, I always forget about it. But it was a great, GREAT show.
1. I was right there with Chandler at the Flaming Lips for the sound check.. I don't think we've ever been so excited together. It still gets brought up as one of those rooligious experiences used to explain the festival.
2. Our first ever night there, we're wandering around in a daze after sundown, and this very cheerful kid comes skipping past us with a huge smile singing "bonnaroo, fun for you!" Really just set the standard for excitement.
3. Neon spandex guys shooting water balloons at the crowd during one of the Sunday sets. Can't remember which, I was too out of it from the sun to properly store memories.

HA! Yes. That was my last show of the weekend, and my friend and I just chilled and listened to Bonnie be awesome. Some dude near us was like "Bonnie Raitt? More like Bonnie GREAT!" and his lame joke still makes me chuckle to this day haha. She was so, so good. I didn't expect her to be such a showman.
Other '06 awesomeness:
- Hearing Grace Potter and the Nocturnals for the first time. When she kicked her boots into the crowd at full force, I knew it was love. - MMJ late night. Literally the most mind-blowingly unbelievable show I've ever witnessed. Also during that show... - This amazing guy buying my friend a shirt to smoke a bowl with us, using someone else's bud because THAT dude was smoking us up just to borrow the pipe. Oh, wtf. The shirt buying guy must have been on x or something because he kept talking about auras and all this crazy nonsense, but he was so charasmatic I believed everything he said. Next time I turned around he was licking some girl's neck and they were pretty much boning the NEXT time I looked. It was the first time they had met. He didn't remember me the next day. And I still have the t-shirt he took off and forgot. This experience is pretty much what's made me want to keep coming back. So surreal, I can't even explain it properly.
'07-
- The Roots absolutely blowing me away. - 2nd row for the Decemberists, then chilling with Feist while everyone else got in position for the Stripes. "Sealion" made my weekend. - Looking back on Friday and not even believing the sheer volume of awesome music I'd consumed that day.

It's kinda hard to pick favorite moments but
In 06 I was walking down shakedown with a friend this guy in probably his 60's or 70's with a long white beard and a long white robe and a walking stick pointed at me and yelled "I look to you Jedi Master!!!" it set the mood for my weekend
Getting to sing "Start wearing Purple" into Eugene Hutzs microphone with the girl beside me when he jumped into the crowd...
Being right up against the stage for Matisyahus acoustic set....that show leaves me without words, it was so amazing
Just some of the awesome people/band members/comedians I have gotten to meet, they all make up that awesome roo experience
This thread is making me even more impatient for roo lol
You know what I am excited for this year? Getting to meet people from Inforoo!!!

- Waiting around for FRONT ROW of GRAB Superjam. With my back up against the hard metal barrier, doing nothing but waiting and reading my schedule.....I had an amazing time. The speakers played "Moonlight Mile" by the Rolling Stones and it never sounded so beautiful. You can only imagine my extreme excitement when Phil came out. I damn near cried. Wow. So amazing. I had to miss out on most of Radiohead....but the super badass jam really was worth it.
- All the nice people giving free water bottles, frisbees, and cd's on the line into the actual camp site.
- Walking past Demitri Martin as he was exiting (and I was entering) the end of the Flaming Lips. All I could think of to say was "Demitri....hilarious set" and he kinda looked weirded out by me.
-Front row of Gov't Mule latenight. Watching Lewis Black on the side of the stage, finally come up and get involved.....only to be hit with a water bottle that unleashed an awesome tirade on some dumbass. Having Bob Weir come out followed by JPJ really blew me away.
- My first real glow stick war at Trey's latenight show. Highlights included: Beatles covers, Matisyahu & Trey covering Marley.
- The feeling of late night bonnaroo. It's amazing
I really can't wait. I'm dying to get there. It's so close. I need bonnaroo now.
1) 06 - Tom Petty closing with "American Girl"...and me dancing my butt off, because it's my favorite Petty song...my first "holy crap this is amazing" moment 2) 07 - HAULING it to get to the Which Stage when the Flaming Lips did the "War Pigs" sound check 3) 07 - Mavis Staples. Sunday Morning. Dancing like crazy to "This Little Light of Mine"...could have easily been a Roo revivial...
There's many more!
I have not attended a Bonnaroo as of yet, so I don't have any favourite moments, but in honour of American Girl being your favourite Petty song and Pearl Jam playing this year, I'll post a video I took at a show in St. Paul a couple of years ago.
edit: I read an interview with Eddie Vedder a couple of months after this show where he said he nearly threw up on stage. I am proud to say I got that moment quite clearly on the video. ;D
