speaking of NOFX, they have a TV show now?!?!? I caught it the other day, it was fairly funny and kind of sad. I used to be really into these guys when I was a young lad, I didnt know they were still playing music tho.
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
i guess my reasoning behind starting this thread was.... it seems that there is less and less money paid out in royalties to these bands of the past and in order to generate some income, so that they are able to maintain the lifestyle that they have become accustom to, they must do live reunions and live shows. That's just my opinion... Blink was just an example i was thinking of at the time. They are a band that had a bad nasty break up and i wonder if later on after all their pieced together bands fail do they come together for financial reasons. Reunions seem popular recently.
ah, I love it when people jump on the "I hate this group" bandwagon for no real reason other than peaked and faded popularity.
Blink 182, are they a great band? No. Absolutely not. Are they the worst thing to happen to music? Far from it. Same with Creed. People hate them because its the proper thing to do at this point in time. Even though, everyone here knows that at least 50-60% of you at one point owned a Blink 182 album, or at the very least Creed's My Own Prison (which, lets be honest, is a pretty solid record).
Popularity doesn't make music good or bad. It might annoy you more, but it doesn't make that music any better or worse than it is. It is what it is.
Uh...I owned all their albums, saw them 3 times and still know every song by heart. Looking back on them, they were incredibly terrible at both writing songs and playing songs live. One of the worst bands ever BUT their last album made them go out in a some what decent manner. Travis Barker is also one of the WORST drummers ever. I used to think he was absolutely astonishing but when I hear him now, he does the same rhythms and signatures over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.
The reason I hate this band is because they wasted my time when I should have been discovering much better music.
so im curious as to where this imaginary line is of when its ok to be negative and disrespectful about bands and the people who post about them and whos in charge of drawing said line. id appreciate it if they would move the line to the other side of 311, beastie boys, the killers, metallica and kanye so that i might be able to express my opinions about them without being berated. ;D

I use to think Blink 182 was alright, then I saw them open for No Doubt right before No Doubt broke up.
Not only did they suck live, they were jerks on top of it. One guy was walking down to his seat with Nachos and Tom Delonge started to berate the guy for having the nerve to get nachos during his set.
Blink apparently was under the illusion that since it was a co-headlining gig people needed to be there for them as much as No Doubt. They sucked butt live and then ripped on audience members.
It must of been tough as No Doubt tore the house down and made Blink seem link a 11am act on the Vans Warped tour.
My vote would be for No Doubt before any Blink consideration.
