i can't really complain about my finals.. although i was on inforoo instead of studying. but mine are done and i wound up with an A-, B,B-,C+ i'm satisfied with it
We have to play a game during the presentation I have to do in a little over an hour. My partner & I are bringing in a pinata. Classmates who answer a question correctly will get to take a swing.
I just stuffed SpongeBob SquarePants with about five pounds of candy... for a class of 22 people. I just waved him around on the end of a broomstick to give it a test run, and he scares the living bejesus out of the cat. I wish I could keep him.
Finals start for me one week from today, and end on the following Monday. For the past month or so, my body has been in class, but my mind has been at Roo. On top of all the other shit I have to do, my computer decided to crash last week and erase all my files, including the three final papers I'd been working on for weeks. Luckily I had some older drafts saved in my email, but it's still a royal pain in the ass. I just got it back less than an hour ago, and while I did get a free hard drive upgrade (they no longer make the 80GB version), everything was gone. All my songs on iTunes, all my Word documents, all my personal settings, all the photos I had deleted from my camera but hadn't uploaded online, etc.
I'm just ready for everything to be over and done with, so I can go home and just relax. That being said, after a couple weeks of vacation, I'll probably be bored stiff and want to hang out with all my friends from school again. College really would be the ideal lifestyle, if not for those pesky classes, joy-kill RAs and, ugggh... Sodexho <shudder>.
i just found out i failed my calc 2 class and now have to take it this summer.. Im sure i didnt pass my physics with calc class since i had to get a perfect score on the final.. But i did pass my two easy classes.. Man i wish i could celebrate but i just cant find a reason to.. Now i have to go to a 3 hour night course on tue and thur for the rest of the summer.. soo the advice i give is go study dont fuck off and go to the bars the night before.. as good as the music sounds and the beer taste..
I am eagerly awaiting being bored stiff. My apartment is a mess due to housework on the backburner, and the chains go up at the disc golf courses tomorrow.
My partner presentation was adequate but not as well as I'd hoped. I was bogged down in details in comparison to my partner. But she had backed out of our second meeting of the day yesterday, so I couldn't plausibly have known to be on the same page there.
I did have a lot of fun walking around campus handing out free candy out of a half-decapitated SpongeBob, though...
I am sick of napping 2-3 hours here and there instead of getting some actual fucking sleep.
It's 5:15am and I'm about to leave the library for another nap before I drive my girlfriend to work at 7:30. If I'm lucky, I'll squeeze in two full hours this time...
On the plus side, my paper is half-finished and I'll have 5-6 hours to complete the other half before it's due. I'm not in the greatest position, but I'm better off than I thought I'd be when I started this thread.
Everything turned out well for me ...amazingly! Skipped my last final this morning (she lets us drop 1 test and my grades are good sooooo Just have to get to Staples to pick up prints of my portfolio cause the campus printer died!
The paper I am writing on has me select a member of Congress and report to them on a bill - the position they should take and its likely fate. I chose Sen. Jim Webb (D-VA) as my hypothetical boss for the purposes of the paper.
During my brief sleep, he managed to find his way into my dreams. I was on the sidewalk and saw him and his entourage walk across the street towards a van up the block. I tried to go meet him - I had something to say to him, but I wasn't sure what - but they got into the van and drove away before I could catch up to them.
My addiction theory final ripped me a new one. It was a 50 question essay test. I always say that I'd rather take an essay test than a multiple-choice test, but not after that one! Probably the hardest final of my undergrad career.
BUT I am about to take a final in t-minus 10 minutes! and then I'm done! hooray!
I finished my ten page paper with 34 minutes to spare. My printer decided to go on strike at some point yesterday, but I fortunately had barely enough time to make it to the library and print out a copy.
My classes end a week from today, and I only have one final exam after that. Thank God.
i love that this thread exists. and that i just now found it. yeah, i haven't been on here in a few days.
but, i would really like to complain. so let me tell you what i've accomplished this week.
monday was the calm before the storm. tuesday i took 2 exams, and 2 quizzes. wednesday i wrote a 6 page paper, due at 6pm. then took a final. today a 30 page paper was due. i started last night at 10pm. also had a final exam in the class tomorrow i have 2 exams.
andddd best part is... next week is finals week. this was just the last week of classes.
i'm bumping this thread. cause i'm so excited right now.
all semester i've been preparing my parents and myself with the fact that i could possibly fail business stats. i was struggling. honestly, PRAYING for a C+ so i could just pass and not have to retake it. then things starting looking up and i got into B range and so a lot of my anxiety went away. BUT today i took my comprehensive final in that class and i got a PERFECT on it. which means, i am now getting an A- in the class!!! i really can't believe it. i've never been so happy in my life.
I am completely done with the first of my three classes in about 2 1/2 hours - but not before a 5min presentation. But I think I'm good to go on that, or else I wouldn't be dropping in here.
My "done with college" countdown is under one week. I should be excited, but I'm more like scared shitless.
Hooray for a chance to whine. My big scary final is on Thursday too. I just finished this completely retarded remediation I have to turn in before I take the final. We took our last regular test and this Arnette standardized test on Monday. The Arnette test is supposed to prepare us for boards and cover material we learned throughout the semester. The goofy thing was all screwed up and we wasted an hour while the instructors figured out how to log us in. THEN the printers got all screwed up and we all had to wait around for them to print our results. The test was not really relevant to what we learned and I missed 15 questions on a 44 question test. Then we get this print-out with vague descriptions of the questions and we have to look up the right answer in the book and write it down. Here's an example... Question #38 was "STDs". My remediation response... "See Chapter 52"
Now that I'm done with that big waste of time I can study. And let me tell you, they freak us out with finals... if you fail the final, you fail the course, no matter what you're class average is. You need a 76% or better to pass and the final counts for 25% of your grade.
If you ever decide to go to nursing school, be prepared to leave your sanity behind.
I wrapped up two of my three classes today. And what a crappy day it's been.
One paper worth 25% of my Policymaking Process grade; left the library around 5:30am. Interned from 9am-noon. An hour on campus before class to do the cover/summary page before the paper was due. Class 2:25-4:30ish, then returned home about an hour ago. I had a one-page "internship assessment" paper due for Legislative Internship. Only 5% of the grade and not hard to do - but kind of an inconvenient pain in the ass on my schedule. I have to go to work until 11pm now. And I only slept for about an hour and a half.
All that's between me and the end of college are one lecture and one final exam. It's so close, yet so far...
Tonight is the last library all-nighter of my college career...
I sat at a cubicle in the Silent Study room and encountered a pleasant surprise. Amongst the various graffiti on the wall, I found this written: "(kdogg) has BIG balls!"
It made my day. It's good to know I've left an impression at this institution.
