This thread makes me sing that Truth commercial. "It musta been a type-o, a type-o, a type-o..."
Ugh, I don't even smoke (besides corn, that is) but that commercial makes me want to just in spite.
Yeah- They're going WAY over bored with the Truth commercials. Having people wheel around in wheelchairs in choreographed patterns while breathing through oxygen tanks? Everytime I see that commerical it just makes me wanna cigarette to spite them.
I quit on June 23rd cold turkey...What has helped me is the positive reinforcement that I do with myself. I say things like "Gosh, it's nice my shirt smells good", "I really like coughing less"
I'm with you it feels like more of an association thing; ie with my morning coffee, in the car, etc...I'm currently only struggling with the after I do the dishes trigger, but I will get there.
It's an ass thing to say but I truly believe if you want to quit, you will succeed, failure becomes an option when you negotiate with your personal goals.
My goal is that I want to live a very long time with my wife, and smoking/chewing took away from that goal.
I'm the opposite of moderate, immaculately polished With the spirit of a hustler and the swagger of a college kid Allergic to the counterfeit, impartial to the politics Articulate but still would grab a ni**a by the colla quick
^^Yeah. A little while back I blamed the increase in my social smoking on the new smoker BF. But he just quit, and... I still want to smoke. It used to be a mostly social/habitual thing, but I think all the smoking I did to cope with this stressful summer in Chi-town finally showed me what this whole nicotine thing is... I crave cigs more than Diet Coke some days. And I'm really, really into Diet Coke.
