What is the man made Mound or hill they made?

Ahhh yes! THE MOUND! The tent on the mound is for VIP's. That's where VIP's will have their special dinners and be able to enjoy performances on the stages without obstructions to their visibility. That's why the VIP tent is elevated this time. It is located on the back left side of Centeroo going through the arch. You can't miss it.

I hope that this doesn't undo the shortcut through VIP from BFE for us poor folks...

I have just the one that I posted in this thread. It's the only picture I've seen of The VIP Mound.

The VIP info on the official site still promises bleachers for both Which and What stages. I'm certainly hoping that will still be the case. As a super short person, they were a huge selling point for me!

If this "mound" is where I think it is, it will be a nice relax spot to see the main stage with an unobstructed view. Matter of fact, I may sit a top that mound for Kanye.

Probably where I'll watch Rock as well. I may have to move into the Metallica crowd just to relive a little youth. I saw them at Monsters of Rock in Philly back in 88. I was right in the thick of things and it was INSANE!!

No need to worry about that! The mound is adjacent to Employee parking from the back-stage lot and VIP Camping.

As far as I know, VIPs are the only people able to be on The Mound. The bleachers will likely be sitting right below the tent.

If you look at the picture close to the beginning of this topic and observe the tent you have a straight shot photo of the side from the employee parking lot. What Stage is located directly left of that mound but at an angle in the far right back corner of Centeroo.

You have The Mound in the far back left corner of Centeroo and now you have What Stage in the far back right, but the distances are not far. If you have an older map of the festival grounds, What Stage is in it's usual location. The VIP Mound is located where the VIP Bleachers and the VIP Tent used to be and now you have the VIP Tent on top of the mound and will likely have the bleachers situated in front of the mound facing What Stage dead ahead.

This is the best picture I have that may help you guage some distances. Obviously you can see the What Stage construction in the picture. If you look right above the white and red SUV's parked in the far right of the picture you can see the ascension of the mound above the roofs of those vehicles.

That mound is totally sweet, i can absolutely see myself there for optimal viewing since I am vertically challanged and really don't like looking between peoples armpits to see the stage. it also makes for a nice place to dance.

I'm glad that some people on here were both vocal and professional about how VIP was a bit lacking last year. Looks like that, along with ownership of the farm, is going to work out well for everyone.
