Jeez, now I'm nervous about us getting a spot in Tent Only! We're driving in but we want to be closer to Centeroo because last year the walk from BFE was miserable. When do you think its gonna fill up? We're planning on getting on the road super early...

hopefully the comedy theater is bigger than the comedy tent. i missed david cross and lewis black last year since i didn't want to stand inline and wait.

I'm curious to whether VIP is expanding to give VIP campers more room, or were there really that many more VIP tickets sold? Surely not the latter, with overall attendance down and The Police being a huge draw in VIP last year.

Me too! I know we won't get there until probably around 9 or 10 with the traffic....
I wouldn't doubt that more VIP tickets were sold. Just sayin'.
And I don't think they'll totally phase out Tent-Only, ever. And while to some being that close to the entrance may seem a hindrance, for many Tent-Only's location is incredibly sweet. I think they're in an awkward position in parking a bunch of people's cars in legit camping areas only to have those people not actually camp there. I could see them just fooling with different solutions.
Also- anyone notice there's a U.S. Post Office this year???
Okay, now that's weird. It's as if they've accidentally switched the VIP Bar area with VIP Hospitality (which is the catering tent, I presume). Last year, catering was exactly where they show the bar being. While the bar is where the tent was. The bar makes a lot more sense by the bleachers at What Stage, while the catering tent makes a lot more sense by the campgrounds. Hmmm. Very weird map, from a VIP perspective.
The VIP information packet says "The main VIP hospitality area is located in VIP camping and serves full buffet and beverages throughout the day. The second VIP hospitality area is located at the main stage VIP viewing area. This area will feature light snacks and beverages"
Last year - tent only was the lower 1/2 of Camp Sloan Peterson and Camp Biff Tannen
this year it is clubber lang/adrian/paulie and thunderlips
Looks to me that there is about the same amount of space as last year - it is just configured differently - instead be being a long skinny rectangle - it is more of a big square

Well good news for people that do go in early this year, if they are stuck in what I like to call Lil Haiti (BFE in the lower right) now has an entrance to the main stage area. So if they let you in early this year with your car, you really have no walk. The only thing is that it closes at midnight so that late night would be the long walk home. This has appeal now that I am thinking about it.
Edit: I just realized now that we have that new entrance, wait lines will not be as long as they use to be under the arch.
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."
I was in the lower right hand BFE last year. The showers didn't open till like Saturday and then of course it was very muddy. However, just beyond the fence a lovely local family had a nice row of showers, cheaper and with shampoo and soap. Also the entrance through VIP to the What Stage was open last year, but again not until like mid day Saturday and they were kinda dicks about it as I remember, there didn't seemed to be any rhyme or reason to it being open or closed.

Perhaps they'd still let you exit through that lower right BFE entrance after midnight, if not that would be an insanely long walk to have to go all the way around VIP on your way home.
I also see little gree buses at various points on the maps with the handicapped symbol on them - makes me wonder if they are running shuttles for us cripples???
They are running access shuttles this year. I haven't been before, but it does seem like they're trying really hard to improve the access program. I think the shuttle goes between the access pod, Centeroo, and...somewhere else. Make sure you get info on everything they do have for access people when you get there!
