This show alone would have been worth the price of admission.
Like I said in a text to one of my good friends while he was eagerly waiting for MMJ to come onstage: That will be one of the greatest shows of your life! Looks like I was right!
So far at Bonnaroo, Metallica has put on an engaging show (even if it's not your bag, you have to admit that a) the crowd looked like they were having a blast, b) the band looked like the respected and appreciated being there, and c) they rocked hard), and it's lead guitarist has collaborated with Bonnaroo fan-favorites My Morning Jacket, as well as being part of the SuperJam, playing alongside such "Bonnaroo-worthy" acts like Les Claypool and Gogol Bordello.
By all accounts, the world is still standing, and Bonnaroo is having a blast. Can we stop the needless Metallica bashing in every thread now?
I'm not bashing Metallica. I was commending Kirk cuz he was meshing with other artists. I said Lars prob went right back to the bus cuz to me it seems like he's the whiner of the band.
So I set my XM to record the broadcast and it turns out today that I have almost 2 hours of the show! It starts at the beginning and am not sure where it cuts off (I haven't gotten there yet)! I'll see if I can find a way to pull it off and at least mp3 it for y'all! Maybe I can pull my karma up since the whole drunken Phish comment I made!

You were right. Home Sweet Home. Amazing. Wish I could say more about this set... I'm sure I will soon enough.
There were a few recordings being made of the set. I saw at least three sets of mics there. Stupid me left after an hour and half to see the Superjam. Can't wait to hear the whole show. Hopefully it comes up soon.
F@cking Amazing! This and the '06 late night are quite possibly my two favorite shows ever. F all the babies who left the show to get out of the rain. I was there the whole time, and everyone leaving just made it easier for me to get closer.
GET DOWN ON IT! MMJ brought the funk for sure. I will be at MSG new years for sure. I love Radiohead to death, but Jim James and crew are the best touring band out there.

Dude, no joke. After it started raining, the set felt so intimate...just the people that were loving it. I can't count the people who came up to us randomly asking, "WHO IS THIS?!" And when we'd tell them, they'd still be so blown away, just like, "oh my GOD, they're AMAZING!"
We showered with MMJ.
And oh my god that Cold Sweat cover was the nastiest, hardest funk I've ever heard any white boys play. Hands down.
