Me personally, I would not have taken the money....................................................................................................................................................................
^^ do you play cod4 nola? I think i may have played with you before.
back to topic. I wouldnt feel to bad. Technically it was a gift, albeit a strange drunken gift. "It's better to give than recieve" some say, not me but some people have said that.
Well if its the same Chelsea Mcgibbon from Minnesota thats on facebook, I probably wouldn't have kept it myself cuz she looks cute lol.. But it is an acceptable decision imo, since it WAS a gift, regardless of state of mind. I just feel bad for those who do things under the influence of corn and wake up to find they did something that they instantly regret..

I wouldn't call it a gift so much as I would a mistake...
But I mean, I'm sure the vast majority of people at the Roo would've done the same thing as you... Hell, a lot of them probably would've jacked more of the stuff, so I guess you can feel good about that
Personally, I don't know what I would've done if it wasn't possible to immediately give it back to her...
heh, makes me wonder about all these stories of theft I hear tho ;D

but that's just me
i would have bought a jalapeno corndog and turned the rest in! :-)
nice point, strum... i'm sure the chick woke up the next morning saying "somebody robbed me!!"..... i can't honestly tell you what i would have done. i give you props for two things: 1.turning the other stuff in to lost and found.. 2.feeling bad enough to start a thread here.
i'd say that you overall did the right thing... hopefully, you will be able to track her down.
Okay seeing how we are confessing sins at Bonnaroo here is mine. It had a great impact of the festival. I snuck back stage saturday night and turned all the clocks back two hours in Knaye Wests trailor. I was thinking it would be funny but all these people got mad and started to yell at Kanye. I feel bad about it now because he got in trouble and got really mad and broke his mac air....... Sorry Kanye

I've played a little cod4, but on PS3, and my name has not been nola oddly enough, haha. It's my roomate's PS3, so his account is whatever name he wants it to be haha

i would have been tempted to do the same, but my conscience would have won. Though the $140 would have been helpful on the trip back. I came home with $1, literally.

haha i came back with exactly a 1$ bill as well nicely done did use my card couple times though
if i were this Minnesota chick and i got everything back except my $140, i don't think i would be that mad. i would consider that $140 a holder's fee, cause you could have taken that other but returned it.

I would have copied the address from the id, programed my cell # into the cellphone in the bag and vice versa, taken the money out and brought everything except the money to lost and found in the plastic bag. I would have included in the bag a note indicating my phone # again and that she should contact me for her money. If I did not here from her before the end of roo I would have attempted to contact her and return her money. I wouldn't trust the lost and foud people with that much cash which is why I would not include it with the other items in the bag. In short, I would have done everything that I could to return her money. The resources and information needed to do so were right there.
Sounds like you got miracled at Bonnaroo. My friend found 250 on the ground Thursday, and that was a mild groundscore compared to some stories from this year that are out there.
Wow - I don't think my conscience would have allowed me to do that - But I don't think I would have turned it in either - I would have prolly mailed it to her when I got home

I also came home with EXACTLY one dollar in my wallet. crazy.
as for feeling guilty, I once kept a $100 bill that I was getting change for from my manager at Ruby Tuesdays. She broke the $100 bill and didn't take it...leaving me with an extra $100 when I cashed out at the end of the night. I denied it even when I was grilled by management....long story shirt I bought a ton of cool stuff with that money, I even have a pair of sandals still that I bought....but I never got over the guilt....after 10 years I still think about that stupid money. If I could do it all over again I would have turned that money in.
oh well.
we all have moments where the little devil offers a compelling case for being bad.

i stopped by the lost and found tent on sunday evening to see if they had found my friends wallet, and while they did make the mistake of telling him his wallet was in the found database when it was actually only in the lost database, they were very nice people to talk to when we waited for them to go through every wallet in each box to find his. in short, i would trust them to hold any returned items and not pocket them.

Ya, there were countless honest people who turned wallets into lost and found with everything still present, money included. The lost and found people were extremely honest. I don't think any that I met would've pocketed the money.

As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!
if that's her on facebook, why not see if she got the stuff back?
I suppose she might be superiorly pissed about the $140.
I'll pitch in $5 to help pay her back if needed.
I once collected nearly $200 in two days to pay for a school calculator I lost just by asking everyone i knew for $5
and a little bit more by roaming the mall and asking adults for 50 cents to make a pay phone call. (obviously this is back when it was believable for a teenager to not have a cell phone)
