I havent listened to it all the way thru yet, but after the first 2 songs its looking like my fear that Dangermouse would dominate the sound has come true. I'll give it about 4 listens before I make final judgement tho. anyone else get this and listen to it yet for a quick lil judgement?

i'm about 4 songs deep...and so far i'm kinda disappointed. not what i was expecting, very underwhelming. i'm hoping this one grows on me, or the second half is brilliant
I'm listening to it now for the first time. I don't think it's bad. I don't think it's amazing or anything either. There's nothing to striking. Standard fare. It kinda feels like Beck's trying to do something new and cool and awesome, but it just seems like more of the same.

I can't really see what's not to like if you like Beck. Maybe if you're the Midnight Vultures type fan, but it was pretty clear what the tone of this record was going to be. Like Danbird said, not the best or the worst, but it was fun to listen to a couple times through tonight.
I just feel like lately dangermouse is stuck in this smokey backroom 60's vibe and he adds it to everything he does and It doesnt really work to well with Beck. Also it just doesnt sound fresh or exciting, I honestly don't understand how dangermouse got so much credibility I mean all he did was mix jayZ with the beatles and then all of a sudden he was working on tracks with everybody he has waaaay to much hype that he doesnt live up to, at all. I feel like everytime he is working on something everyone is like "oh shit dangermouse is working on this it will be siickkkk" and then he drops something mediocre and forgettable and its so forgettable that people actually get excited when his name comes up again.

I've liked about half of danger mouse's work, but really, this sounds like Beck to me. I guess if I try to pick out the danger mouse sounds I can do it every now and then, but why bother? I try not to get too wrapped up in how something is supposed to sound or how much hype people put on something when I'm listening to music. Takes the fun out.
But if you don't like it, you don't like it. That's cool. Personally, I haven't listened to Guero since about a month after I bought it.
I loved the DangerDoom album and the new Black Keys sounds pretty great, so I've got nothing against Danger Mouse per se. I used to be really excited about new Beck releases in the past, but he's kinda lost that excitement for me. I don't really know why.

I like it. You can notice what little elements Danger Mouse adds (i've heard similar chanting/chorus sounding backup vocals on the Black Keys album too). It's pretty good CD

I love it. I haven't really got to listen to it until recently. I have always enjoyed his music. This cd is pretty good, it's like a relapse into 60's rock. It's pleasing. I like the song "Chemtrails".
