A murderer is condemned to death. He has to choose between three rooms: the first is full of raging fires; the second is full of assassins with loaded guns; the third is full of lions that haven't eaten in 3 years. Which room is safest for him?
^^^^the lions - because if they have been hungry for three years - they are dead
next one:
A woman shoots her husband. Then she holds him under water for over 5 minutes. Finally, she hangs him. But 5 minutes later they both go out together and enjoy a wonderful dinner together. How can this be?
There are two men in a room, guarding two separate doors. One of the doors will lead to certain death; the other one will lead to safety. One guard always tells the truth, and the other guard always lies (you don't know which is which). How do you figure out which door you should go through?

Ask one of the guards, "If I asked you if you tell the truth, would you say yes?" The liar will say no and the truth-teller will say yes. Then, you can as the truth-teller which door is the safe door.
I've got a one-liner riddle: The man was afraid to go home, because the man with the mask was there. Why?

He is a baseball player...
A bit of an odd/not the greatest one: Ed and Susan are dead on the floor in a cement room with an open ¼ window and no door. There is broken glass, a small table, and water on the floor. Any idea what happened?

Not quite, steveternal, but good guess. I won't post the answer in case anyone else wants to take a shot at it (PM me if you really want to know).

Ed and Susan are fish. A gust of wind came in through the window, their bowl fell and broke, and they died.
What is greater than God, More evil than Satan, The rich need it, The poor have it, And if you eat it, you will die?

Maybe not the answer that you are looking for, but I think steveternal is right. If he is the truth-teller, he will say yes (because (1) he would have said yes, and (2) he is telling the truth about what he would have said). If he is the liar, he will say no (because (1) he would have said yes, and (2) he is lying about what he would have said).

you ask each guard "which door will the other guard say is the correct door?"
the guard who tells the truth will give you the incorrect door because the lying guard would lie to you. the guard who lies will also give you the incorrect door because the honest guard would give you the correct door, but the lying guard is lying....so all you need to do is pick the opposite door...and live.
the reason we came up with two answers is cause usually this riddles supposed to include a "you can only ask each guard one question" clause. there maybe more answers if you ask like this.
Ask one of the guards, "If I asked you if you tell the truth, would you say yes?" The liar will say no and the truth-teller will say yes. Then, you can as the truth-teller which door is the safe door.

Yeah like Hilari said, my answer is sound. Although perhaps there is a way to streamline it into on question? I suppose you could simply ask, "If I were to ask you which door is the safe door, what would you say?" Then both would answer the same: the truth-teller of course with the truth, and the liar would say the "wrong" one, so his meta-answer would be the "right" one. There, is that better?
^^ah, okay, gotcha. Your answer makes sense now. I misunderstood what you meant in your first post... because, if you ask a liar if he tells the truth, he'll say yes, since he's a liar. Then if you ask the honest man the same question, he'll also say yes, and you'd be no closer to knowing which door to enter. See what I mean?
Anyway, counterproduct had the answer I was looking for... you ask each guard which door the other guard will tell you to go through. Their answers will be the same, and then you can safely go through the other door.
And drewboy had the right answer to the other one; the answer is nothing.
I'll let someone else post the next one, or else I'll feel like a thread hog.
I dig out tiny caves, and store gold and silver in them. I also build bridges of silver and make crowns of gold. They are the smallest you could imagine. Sooner or later everybody needs my help, yet many people are afraid to let me help them. Who am I?
Four men were in a boat on the lake. The boat turns over, and all four men sink to the bottom of the lake, yet not a single man got wet! Why?
