I was just wondering how everyone else is faring around the nation...what gas prices are you guys looking at? I live in Clinton, Tennessee...which is near Knoxville and we are looking at $4.59 to a little over $5 bucks for a gallon of gas...It's ridiculous! I mean it's obvious to me that it's just some scam...We all rushed out to buy gas, at least around here and we all fell for it because we were told we would be running low on gas. I was told we have some of the highest gas prices in the nation here too...

Don't feel bad...it's a Southeast thing I think....our prices went from $3.78 a gallon to $4.39 a gallon in a 5 hour period on Friday...and that was just the stations that DIDN'T run out of gas! News reports of prices going up and shortages fueled panic buying...and we are STILL sitting at $4.29 for an average though if you really LOOK you can still find it at the odd station for around $3.80 or so......

Haven't filled up in a while, this thread got me curious so I ran downstairs to look, $3.71 across the street, seems like a super bargain compared to some of you, I'm just grateful I don't have to drive much here

according to gasbuddy.com my average price was 4.24 today with the average last year being 3.16!!! Was it only a year ago that 3.16 was a reality? I had to check gasbuddy as I dont drive anymore. Better than giving up smoking. ;D
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
We are at a year-long low of $3.69 here. That's about fifty cents less than it was in mid-July so I'm happier here. We've contracted to one car at this point and the Echo gets about 40 to the gallon on the highway so we don't go through a whole lot anymore.
It's about 3.60 where I live. I don't remember exactly how much it was when I gassed up the other day, but it was around there. It's slowly going up, but it's still a nice relief from what it was earlier in the summer. It's down now, but it's still a buck higher than what it was this time last year.

This morning's news said 85% of stations in Nashvile are OUT OF GAS. Ouch!
People panicked after Hurricane Ike because they said the Southeast was going to run out of gas...stations jacked their prices up and people sat in line for hours to buy gas.
The funny thing? The gas supply was fine.
Now a lot of stations are out of gas and can't get any for like, 2 more weeks.

Well it looks like things are slowly clearing up around Knoxville. It's good to see mostly all gas stations are under 4 bucks. But I have a feeling this won't last. No word yet of any gas station shortages.

Phew, finally got gas today and didn't have to wait in line too long. Hopefully things are starting to clear up here now, its been ridiculous, especially since it doesn't seem to be going on barely anywhere else in the country :/

theres hardly any gas in charlotte-people are freaking out-long gas lines and people just cant find it. Then there's the people that are going in and 'topping off' their tanks. Ridiculous. Im looking at walking to work tomorrow. crap, need the exercise anyway.
