I hope your headliners and preheadliners are dead on.
chewtheangels you want lil wayne late night? ARE you crazy or did you just not learn your lesson from last year?
I actually agree with angels. Lil Wayne wouldn't be a bad person to put in the line-up. The only reason last year was bad was because it was Kanye West. There is a big difference in ego's. Kanye has to have everything his way...
Lil Wayne could turn out just as bad. When I went to see him earlier this year he showed up 2 hours late with no reason at all and ended up playing a mediocre show. He was mostly concerned about his huge entourage having their own party at the back of the stage.
Jay-Z could put on a great show. After all, the guy headlined f'n Glastonbury this year, and I heard good things about his set. I'd love to see the JiggaMan on the farm.
That performance is awesome...the whole thing beginning to end used to be on youtube in high quality and it was amazing. High energy the whole time, had a ton of crowd involvement, his songs had a lot of classic guitar riffs mixed in to them, and he even got those flags that tower over glastonbury to wave in beat with a song at one point. Jigga man headlining Roo would be great, but I don't think he'd be able to top his Glasto performance (he played the Oasis thing really well, using it as much as he could).
Hmm. DAY 1 Claypool Stage- Les w. Gabby/Sherik>Les w. Cellist/Mirv>Oysterhead(preheadliner)>Primus(headliner)>Superjam featuring Les, Cellist, MIRV, Sherik, Gabby, and Buckethead(late night)
DAY 2 Dead stage- Mickey Hart+band>Bill Kreutzman+band>Bobby Weir+ratdog(preheadliner)>Phil and friends(headliner)>The Dead w. Warren Hayes(late night)
DAY 3 Soft stage- Ben Harper>Sean Lennon w. Rufus Wainright>(preheadline)Bob Dylan>(headliner)Eddie Vedder>(late night)Jack Johnson
DAY 4 Grab Bag stage- CSNY>MMJ>(preheadliner)Roger Waters(DSOTM,The Wall,Echoes,Animals)>(headliner)LED ZEP>(late night) Jesus Christ superstar full performance(love this)
Post latenight to sunrise stage day 1>MSTRKRFT day 2>Ghostland Observatory day 3>Tiesto day 4>(yes I gave sunday latenight) Daft Punk
Yes I realize this totally unrealistic and do not expect any of it. Tickets would be $1000+ each ahahaha. Also, nobody would navigate from What stage all day so as not to miss these epic acts. Also, Thats alot of slappin on that bass for Les on day one I hope his callouses are good. I think Jesus Christ Super Star would be so epic, I love that play and have the soundtrack on my ipod but a giant field in front of What is not the best way to view.

Okay I don't have the attention span to be as elaborate as you guys so I am just gonna put a few bands up I would love to see at roo in 09....in another couple days I might put up a few more....then a few more after that and one day there will be an entire lineup
Devotchka Balkan Beat Box MSTRKRFT DJ Shadow Flobots Sean Lennon & Rufus Wainwright (I definitely second this, whether they play together or not) Moby Manu Chao Bassnectar Tom Waits Nick Cave Incubus Allman Bros. Flaming Lips Man Man
ummm I'm all out for right now...I know I will think of some more later in the day... I know it's not likely but I would be super stoked if even just a few of them came to roo 09
Outkast or Jay-Z really seems to be the clear Hip Hop headliner for next year. Both established acts with huge fanbases, and excellent live. Outkast have a new album out supposedly early next year, and neither have headlined any of the major NA festivals yet (Lolla, ACL, Coachella, Roo, etc)
I'd love to see Outkast, but I have not really heard anything about an 'Outkast' album. I've heard things about solo Big Boi and Andre 3000 albums. But I think the Outkast headlining rumors that have popped up are largely baseless given: 1) They currently aren't together. 2) They haven't toured together to my knowledge since Stankonia.
I'd go out on a limb and say, at this point, of the guys who are touring, there are only two potential hip/hop headliners who could play Bonnaroo: Beastie Boys and Jay-Z, and of those two, I think Beastie Boys are far more likely.

There's an article floating around here somewhere where big boi talks about how he's putting the finishing touches on his new album then getting to work with dre on a new one. Great news, though I still think it's very unlikely they headline due to dudezer's second point...although it would be flocking amazing if they did.
I would never take anything Big Boi says too seriously. He claimed he was releasing the solo album he's releasing this month a year ago. A few years ago, he promised two albums before the year ended, and a year later they released one, the soundtrack to Idlewild.
