As for which politicians-are you for real? Off the top of my head I can name pelosi, Reid, murtha, Kennedy, and possibly gore and Kerry. I can't give exact quotes, and unfortunately I'm using my iPhone for the rest of the evening. However, tomorrow I promise to find quotes as well as links for support. Several compared bush to terrorists, as well as Hitler, among other things.

These teabag protests are ridiculous- protesting about taxation? Taxation is what gives us roads to drive on and public services, these teabagging protestors have representation yet they still complain about taxes ??? These protestors are ignorant to compare their tax protest to the boston tea party- at the time of the of the boston tea party we were being oppresses by english taxation without being represented which is completely diff than the situation now. Anyone see the support that the teabaggers got from FOX and people like Hannity? When Bush was in office it was unnacceptable to them for people to protest against the govt but now they are all for supporting those protesting something as basic and necessary as taxes
Actually, I don't think most people have a prob with taxes. I believe it is the "unnecessary" spending that they are protesting. I mean come on, protecting a mouse in San fran, genetics of catfish, the study of cow manure, money for tattoo removal!! Just a few items that are supposed to "stimulate" our economy.

^That is all porkbarrel spending that has been there for years prior to Obama and is one thing that is trying to be cleaned up in washington so that makes no sense to call it economic stimulation. These teabag protests are cased off the bostob tea party- something completely different! These people have representation and they are protesting against having to pay taxes- this is something we all must do as Americans even if we would rather have the extra money to ourselves
I'm not saying you do or don't get your info from mainstream media, but that is how they would like to spin it. It really has to do with more than the pork though. Taking more from people because they make more, then giving it to those less fortunate is a big one. I, for one, am poor, yet I do consider what Obama is doing financially is "generational theft", among other things. I know for a fact that the parties had very little, to nothing, to do with taxation w/o representation.

I'm sure most of the people you named have said negative but factual things about Bush. That's what happens when you sign off on and defend torture, start an illegal wire tapping operation, and suspend habeus corpus.
And yes, I'm for real.
Given your record of misrepresenting people's claims around here, including my own, please forgive me if I'm skeptical when you say that Pelsoi, Reid, Murtha, Kennedy, Kerry, and Gore (who hasn't been a politican for a decade) called Bush a terrorist or Hitler.
You also said they went overseas to say this, so I assumed you had something specific in mind. Which country did these six people go to to call Bush Hitler?

You couldnt be more wrong. I mean you just plain out couldnt be more wrong. I went to the Tea Party here in SC. Which was a huge one and the governor spoke at it. Mark Sanford, the same governor that was the first to reject stimulus money, the one that is positioning for the republican nom in 2012. ANd it had nothing at all to do with what you are saying. All the "tea party's" were in support of the Fair Tax plan. Noeysasquatch was dead on with what he was saying. I can provide pictures and links if you really need them but I hope you will do a little research of your own instead.
Getting people to complain about taxes is like getting kindergarteners to complain about early bedtimes.
EXACTLY! I'm sure it wasn't hard to get people together for this "grassroots" organization. The tough part was having a coherent message. All I got out of it was "We don't like taxes." Well duh, join the fucking club. But its a necessary evil.
Its not like they actually had a plan to change the current tax structure. At least not one that I could see from the demonstrations.

Because you have nothing of substance or factual to say you decide to criticize the media and where i get my information? I get my information from various news sources, but what i try to write here is based on fact and not blinnd unquestioning opinion. You were the one who brought up the issue of porkbarrel spending and now you say its not a problem. These protestors decide to protest taxes even though they have had equal representation.
And karma getfresh. It's good to hear from someone at one of the tea party protests who saw it firsthand.
The FairTax Act (HR 25, S 296) is nonpartisan legislation. It abolishes all federal personal and corporate income taxes, gift, estate, capital gains, alternative minimum, Social Security, Medicare, and self-employment taxes and replaces them with one simple, visible, federal retail sales tax administered primarily by existing state sales tax authorities.
They state 23% for this universal sales tax, but I fail to see how that will generate anywhere near the same amount of revenue as the current tax structure. Do we really think that cutting the federal budget in 1/2 is a good idea?
I'm still against a Fair Tax as an across-the-board sales tax. I think that disproportionately places the burden on those of us in the lower tax brackets. Everyone has to buy a certain amount of goods/services to survive... past that point, isn't it just pure profit for those in the wealthier brackets? Not to mention how it would change corporate taxpaying.
Taxes shouldn't be entirely focused on consumption. Consumer activity accounts for 2/3-3/4 of the country's economic activity.
while i am sure that many will dismiss this very quickly due to the source, but it clearly shows the hatred that many people have/had towards anything bush related. that was actually the first thing that popped up on youtube when "spitting protesters" is typed in.
i guess i might not have made my point clear. i was just basically commenting on the post regarding "where were these people when bush spent blah blah blah". i am wondering where the people that protested the war/wars are now that we are basically moving from iraq to afghan.
I was always for the conflict in Afghanistan. That is precisely where ALL of our military agression should have been spent in the last six years.
Actually, I don't think most people have a prob with taxes. I believe it is the "unnecessary" spending that they are protesting. I know it's easier to just blindly rail against things, but it's really not that hard to research and try to actually understand them first.
The mouse in San Francisco: Turns out this is a complete misrepresentation of this bill. The bill is a wetland renewal project. While the wetland is the habitat of an endangered mouse, protecting the mouse is only one benefit of renewing the wetlands in the Bay Area. There are many environmental, aesthetic, and yes, economic benefits that derive from this bill. Wetlands act as natural water filters, and the destruction of Bay Area wetlands have dramatically increased polluting runoff into the bay, hurting commercial fisheries in the area. Cleaning up the wetlands will result in an economic boon for both commercial fishing operations and commercial farmers. There are other econmic benefits as well, but you can look it up if you're interested.
The catfish genome project: Catfish farming is a $1 billion industry in the US. Besides the obvious scientific benefits of understanding the catfish genome, the $819,000 that Republican Richard Shelby has asked for will help this industry produce catfish better and more efficiently. So that's $800,000 to help stimulate a $1 billion industry.
The tattoo removal project: Praised by judges and law enforcement officials, this is actually a crime deterrent and jobs program. This program costs $200,000 and is for reforming gang members in So Cal, who get tattoos while in gangs. These tattoos are in places that clothes don't cover. People with these tattoos are targets for gang violence even after they are trying to reform. The San Fernando police chief has called this program an effective gang deterrent. Anyone who participates in the program first has to complete community service. The removal of these tattoos helps participants get jobs. Harold Gold, a probation officer with a specialized gang unit says, “It can get the kids jobs — if you have gang tattoos, you can’t get a job. This program is one of the best life-saving and life-changing programs out here. I am about as right wing a conservative as you would ever find.” You might also appreciate that people with jobs are substantially less dependent on welfare.
I'm not sure what the cow manure one you mentioned is about, jigawig. Maybe it's actual unnecessary pork. Maybe when you're finding those links you promised a couple of days ago, you can find a link to this as well.

So far Obama seems to be handling the swine flu problem about as well as I would hope. He's told people to be concerned but not alarmed, while apparently making sure behind the scenes that health officials are preparing for whatever may happen.
I think the potential of a pandemic in the US underscores the need for health care access for all Americans. One of the things they've told us to do is that if we feel sick at all, we should immediately go to the doctor. If people catch this virus but don't go to the doctor because they can't afford it, the potential that it spreads is far greater. In a situation like this, our health care system as it works now puts everyone at risk, not just those without insurance or the money to pay out of pocket.
What a little bitch our president is...yes I said it. Only after much pressure from everyone, he finally makes a statement about the situation in Iran. He wants to be a citizen of the world, yet he won't stand up for the freedoms of a nation, unless there is pressure. Next, un sanctions have forbidden n Korea from receiving missile, among other things. As I type, a ship is headed to Myanmar with beliefs that it has missiles on board for n Korea. Mr president has said that we will confront any ships believed to be violating un sanctions, but he won't board a ship forcibly. Now that's "security we can believe in."
I guess, bottomline, tis better to be loved by your followers, than it is to do the right thing and risk your approval numbers to slip even further.

I'm personally glad that we're not forcibly boarding any ships en route to North Korea. Since it'd just be based on a belief and not solid knowledge, there really isn't much of a reason to show force yet in my opinion. Remember what happened last time we forcibly entered a country's territory based on a belief? I'm not slammin' W with that comment, but rather just pointing out that sometimes our "intelligence" or "beliefs" can be vastly incorrect.
I dunno why you're calling Obama a little bitch, though. He could totally kick your ass!
I agree about the whole beliefs thing you just said. However, if it is determined that sanctions are being violated, he will still be a little girl by letting the boat reach it's destination. As for Obama kicking my ass, he would probably televise it, order $100 steaks for all the audience, and have stevie wonder there playing, all to the tune of the taxpayers hard earned money. He will do this all why stating that we are in a crisis.

The ship is from not going to N Korea. Nobody buys missiles from Myanmar. As far as to the Iranian situation, what do you think he should do? Meddle in the internal policies and elections of another country? They are standing up for themselves against a corupt govt. , and I am glad but what should we do that will not make it any worse. If Obama strongly backs them then the hardliners will use it as an excuse to crack down even harder than they are. They will claim the entire opposition is funded by America, then arrest them all for espionage.
The Ship that is LEAVING N Korea is one more of their little tricks to get humanitarian aid, unlike our previous Pres Obama has already told them he will not reward bad behavior with aid, and that that ship will be inspected at sea. Given that N Korea has nuclear weapons, and over 1.5 million artillery tubes pointed at Seoul these are pretty strong words. So where do you get he is a little bitch from all this it seems to me he has thought out a rational response to two potentially explosive situations. I realize that after the previous administration this comes as a surprise, but it does not make him a whiny little bitch by any means.

Vs W who would just have done it in private at his Crawford ranch during one of his 234 vacation days he took every year.

Speaking of taxpayers hard earned money, as of the end of the last federal fiscal year (sept 30, 2008), 907.3 billion taxpayer's dollars have been spent "fighting terrorism" in Iraq and Afghanistan. That's equal to 169,588,758 Pell grants of $5350 for students. Just like everything else that W has ever done, bad investment ending in failure.

To put that in a little more perspective, thats 42,973,196 Americans who do not have college degrees since 2001. Approximately 4 times the population of New York City. Add the 4,316 US Servicemen that won't be using their GI Bill money because they're dead. All in the name of oil profiteering masquerading as "bringing freedom to Iraq" - except, of course, for the 100,867 Iraqi civilians that have been killed since the beginning of the Iraq war. Of course, one could stop bitching and enlist like I did in 1992. But you'd have to cut your hair and miss Bonnaroo for a few years.

^^^ Well Obama's not stopping that train anytime soon either. We're still fighting two very questionable wars, and will be for a while, not to mention the tens of thousands of our troops that are stationed in peaceful countries like Germany, Japan, and the UK. Hell, we still haven't brought our troops home from WWII. Just because we've had a regime change doesn't mean we stop shoveling money at the war machine.

It is not about right or left, but a New World Order, politicians on both sides belong to the same Good ole boys network, we are falling into a trap set up by world bankers, who want to control the world. The federal reserves are in charge, and "government" is nothing more than political theatre. The Elite are looking for the next crisis to exploit, and make no mistake, they will not stop until their system is in place.Obama is a puppet,so was Bush 1&2, and Clinton. legislation has passed, giving the federal reserves more power, the power to shut down any business it deems to be dangerous to the economy, and that could be anything. We ,as americans need to wake up before it is too late. Our dollar will keep declining, our economy will crash, we will be forced vaccines, and be in Government run work brigades(USAService.org),those who do not comply will be rounded up by UN Soldiers, and be put into FEMA camps where starvation and disease will be rampant, and people will be killed.I hate to sound all doom and gloom ,but the information is out there.Did you know that the FDA is banning all natural remedies that promote being a cure for the swine flu?Check out INFOWARS.COM, I don't agree with everything they say,but there is alot of good perspective about what's going on, and ways we can prepare for the coming onslaught of inflation, disease, food shortages, power outages, and the coming New world Order. It is coming, and I want to see people be prepared. Next month, July 27-31, is going to be massive training and drill exercises all over the US with troops from many different countries, they're calling it Terrorism Prevention and biological theat Assessment( I've seen an official FEMA Document off their website)Did you know that when Bush was in office, he signed a bill that would allow FEMA to take control of our country during a crisis, implement marshall law, seize private property, guns, separate families?I am sad about what is to come, and things appear to be coming into place rather quickly.Be prepared.
