So 2008 was my first roo (Which probably makes me part of the problem of commercialization that has "ruined" roo, but I don't care so kiss my punk rock a$$ you lazy commie hippies. ) Anyway....
Lot's of people will often express excitement about the lineup before it's announced and as it gets closer to being announced. I now understand this excitement. I really don't care who plays much either. I'm just so looking forward to going back. I already blocked out vacations time for Father's day weekend '09. That's easy to change if for some reason they change the date.
Anybody else starting to feel a bit giddy with anticipation?

First of all ^^lol...if we don't see Druid at roo this year we're coming after you fishingmaniac.
But I am getting excited, class and work has got me extra busy until December.....then the dvd comes out. That will hold me over until *crosses fingers* Jan./Feb. when radio clues come out/rumors start flying like mad.
We're almost past the really difficult waiting period....although the worst for me is always those few weeks right before June
I think if I didn't have things like the Highland Games and the Scottish Festival to look forward to in the next couple months I would be getting much more antsy

I'll really start getting excited when djjd reappears. Hopefully he will be back this year to provide us with clues and entertainment.
Most definitely, I was all about some clues this year, it's actually the reason I joined the boards, so naturally I am excited.....I think everybody had fun with them last time....so how could they not bring them back, right?

My friends and I already know how we're getting there and how many people we want with us. One of my friends and I talk about plans for Bonnaroo at least once a week, if not more.
And every time I see a commercial with the Free Credit Report.com guys singing I think of Bonnaroo and giggle...mainly because someone posted that they hoped that was the band that was the "Big Announcement" last year ;D
I am also so excited. Me and my friend talk about it all the time and we're already buying stuff for the trip and we've also made a power point and keep adding things to it. And we made ourselves a bonnaro bank. It's pretty much like a piggy bank but with really cool pictures we find taped onto it. This is my first bonnaroo and I don't think I've been more excited about anything.
I put lists of things that we need to bring, and seperated them into categories: camping, food, fun, hygeine, and clothes. I put stars next to the things I already have. Also a list of 'attendees' and 'possible attendees' And I put fun pictures in every slide. I realize it sounds extremely dorky but it occupies my time when all I can think about is Bonnaroo.

I hope you have a great Bonnaroo. You are in the right place for info on preparing.

Well, crap. After Bonnaroo '08 was one of the best weekends of my life, I got obsessed and surfed Inforoo daily. After about a month of this, I realized I was gonna go insane if I kept obsessing about Roo for 11 months.
So, I cut myself off from Inforoo (not an easy feat!) and managed to focus on other things. And I was successful in forgetting about Roo for approximately 4 months, but I just couldn't help myself. I'm excited!
Roo '08 was a last minute decision for me, and I only surfed Inforoo for several days before the big weekend. But it looks like this time, I'll be going all out checking out line-up rumors; sharing my excitement with you guys; making intricate plans, etc, etc.
Roo '08 was a last minute decision for me, and I only surfed Inforoo for several days before the big weekend.
That was my other account in '06, when I spontaneously got in a car and drove over 900 miles alone to GOD knows WHAT!!!
Welcome to the madness
it's funny; i'm kinda the inverse of the people here who are kinda jaded or feel burnt-out on bonnaroo, and thus prefer other festivals.
i had been to many festivals, large and small, over the past several years, but never to bonnaroo. i'd always loved the Roo line-ups, but there was just always some kinda schedule conflict. i love festivals, but this year i was feelin' kinda burnt out on them, and so i didn't really have any major festival plans.
but bonnaroo's '08 line-up was just too awesome, and so i made the last-minute decision to go, which definitely turned out to be my best last-minute decision ever. 'roo gave me the warm fuzzies like no festival had in years, and for that it holds a special place in my mind.
and now i'm obsessed for the foreseeable future - at the very least until june of '09. let the madness begin!
