thanks for that man! karma
"The fact is, people are confusing their own desire to attend Bonnaroo with Phish’s “right” to play there. Understandably, a mega-festival comes with its caveats and clusterfucks, but at the same time, it comes with freedom from ushers, seats, conventional rules, and standard show limitations. While it is understandable why individuals would not want to attend the event, making the jump to say Phish shouldn’t play the event is purely illogical. Ready or not, here they come!"

"When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro." Hunter S. Thompson

ok as ive mentioned before i dont know much Phish and i questioned the 2 days as a headliner. but im not gonna lie, after reading that article i did get a pretty excited to see them at Bonnaroo.
if they get their 2 nights to headline im sure they will put on 2 great sets and that it will be a great time.
can anybody recommend some live material for me to check out, and what are some of your favorite songs by them? ive heard from some friends who have seen them that they usually did some covers, is there any songs that they covered more then others so i can look to download their version of those songs?

i would just go here: www.livephish.com/ and start listening to the stream..
I'd love to see phish at Roo....but why 2 nights? I'd much rather see an extra headliner and a Saturday set from Phish that spans the time of last years PJ/Kanye set. It now seems that the What stage has no time limit anymore. Or even What Sat. and Which Sun. And to make up for the jump in VIP price and lack of food....Phish and Fish Thurs night VIP dinner....just some thoughts
what about paul mccartney? he has a new album out.
finally, for what it's worth - popped in "a live one" on my way to the dentist this morning. couldnt help but smile at bouncing round the room thinking it was at roo... goddamn, this is going to be great.

So . . . no denial from Superfly. If they were going to deny it, you think they would have done it by now to make sure they were in time for the weekend papers. I suppose one could argue that letting rumors fly will only help their ticket sales. But on the other hand, if Phish weren't on the bill, I think a lot of Phans would be reselling their tickets, thereby decreasing the actual market value (as well as the demand) for tickets when they go on sale for real.
As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!
don't worry, I think with ticket prices what they are, AND with phish on the bill, Bonnaroo will try to sell as many tickets as they can, and will leave tickets on sale as it approaches the 90,000 or 100,000 mark. They didn't do nearly as well as they would have liked with ticket sales last year, and if they did get phish they shelled out cash to do it. So they would need to make up for both. I think Phish could sell out the festival, but I also think that many of the fans who attended the Phish fests of old are now 30-somethings, and the idea of travelling to Tennessee for something other than the Phish fests is not something they consider lightly. The x-factor is how many new fans there are, and from reading this thread alone, It's possible there are alot.
time will tell.
Not to nitpick, but Superfly has said before that they won't go back to the 90-100k person mark. They said that the numbers were just too high, and that 80k was a good cap.
That's not saying that they WON'T, I just don't think it's likely.
I know how you feel venusinfurs...I WANT Phish to play, but it makes me really nervous about getting a ticket because I probably won't be able to swing it until later on. I'm kind of nervous about that
