well i odnt even know what the second half of that means. but as for the first i disagree. granted langerado has moved but big cypress is obviously big enough for phish. echo project had the space. rothbury could do it. alot of these smaller fests could do it. some just dont have space. but alot just like to keep the numbers at a comfortable level. roo dosenty care so much. they will cram 104,000 people into the muddiest spot on earth for a few more bucks. but alot of them could up their attendance if they wanted to. 740 acres is not that hard to come across.
where was all this talk about diversity and music for everyone to enjoy when roo shut phil down for kanye???? it was custiedouche only night at roo i guess,
^It must have been I was there. If you think Phish could play a festival with less than 400 acres you are living in a dream world BTW. If you put them at a fest with space for a "comfortable" say 35,000 then the 70,000 who didnt get tickets will show up no fest would risk that. You should have seen the Deer Creek incident in '95. Like I said and you actually apparently agreed with there is only one festival ground to put 100,000 people at and it is Bonnaroo. You dont have to like it but to make it sound like they could play at a second tier fest is laughable. Phish at All Good anyone? that will teach those custie posers.
i dont understand how a post like gouges goes unnoticed. basically i was attacked because my opinion differs from theres. and the truth is that lots of people feel exactly the same way about roo and just dont voice it because it causes this sh!t. but as yall may have noticed, i enjoy this sh!t. but i dont enjoy name calling and personal attacks. im entitled to think that phish wont play roo or that if they do that they wont sign clauses about playing other fests. so ya my opinions dont jive with cuddling up to roos nuts like most inforoosters but arent i just as entitled to talk about my roo opinions as they are? it is a roo board. in the end i relly dont care about the attacks. i think its funny as hell. but i thought inforoo had rules to keep the plays from being sucked into constant name calling. is that dead around here that the mods will allow anything for something to read?? so im just curious as tthe rules around here. i havent posted much lately. maybe things have changed.

well i didnt mention all good because im aware its too small. they keep it that way intentionally because they love the site and the festie size. ya they could move and have more but they arent all about the dollars. its more to them. and i thank them for it. but the point is if there is no other fest that phish can play then why the hell would superfly care about a clause that says no other fests!! phish could play 40 fests and they would all sell out. so why would superfly try to put some condidtion on roo coming and doubling there atendance over last years sorry excuse for a roo. that and even if no other fest could handle phish i doubt they would agree to not even having their own fest if they want. its just so stupid. superfly NEEDS phish to save and restore roo.
and if phish goes full strength and does a big tour and multiple fests i dont think that it would be much of a problem with the attendance. i think it would be much more of an issue to have phish only playing 1 fest all year. 2 nights of phish and thats the only fest in 08. plus the dead or springsteen or whatever. plus all of the other bands. thats the attendance disaster right there.
I'm not sure I can wrap my head around a near-4000 post-count on a message board for something you so angrily hate.
well i have been around here for quite some time. as many of you who have also been around for a while know that i didnt always despise roo. i LOVED roo with a passion. swore id go to every one forever. like i said a while ago the fvcking scrolling headline on inforoo used to be a quote from me "If Bonnaroo farts I want to smell it. And Inforoo is the place to do it."
i have my reasons for disliking new roo. i think ive made them clear. but to imply that i came to inforoo because i hate roo and want to troll is just ignorant.
I think the strongly negative reaction has more to do with long term track record of often irrational anti-Roo rambling. I don't think you're some martyred voice of the disenfranchised Roo exile mainly because there are simply too many people vocal in their displeasure with the direction Bonnaroo's headed the past couple times around.
As for mod intervention, I think last year sort of changed everything as far as how much freedom people are given to vent. Sometimes it's abused, but honestly, who cares? If you have a problem with gouge, pm him and talk about it in private. Otherwise keep entertaining us with the usual mixture of ludicrous hyperbole and granola flavored self righteous indignation.

I agree with you about the clauses actually, I just dont like being called a custie poser along with the other 97.999 percent of roo goers. However I will stand by my statement Double JJ Ranch could take about 50,000 from what I read if you packed it tight, then at least 25,000 would show up and hell would break loose. First off Bonnaroo is a lot bigger can sell more tickets, and to a point the hippies are not going to try and crash because it is a custie festival with an actual security force. No other US fest do I know of where they could play and get away with it.
I just dont like being called a custie poser along with the other 97.999 percent of roo goers.
A custie is just anybody at a music fest who is not a hippie. I f you have a job and home to go back to, and aren't there to sell glass or burritos or druqks or something, but just wanna hear music and have a good time, you're a custie. I'm damn proud to be a custie. It sure beats being a lazy, stinky, self-rightous hippie.
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it
i dont think 50,000 would be a huge problem if they have a decent tour and play more then one fest.
so the phish at roo thing would work because of custies and cops... that an interesting perspective.
and as for the pot calling the kettle black--- i dont make personal attacks against users. i voice my opinion. i may offend a few along the way. but i dont personally attack anyone unless its in defense of being personally attacked. i think anyone whos followed my career knows that much.
and ya i guess it could be considered trolling now a days. but truthfully im here to talk about roo. its a roo board and im talking roo. is it trolling just because i dont have anything positive to say? what about all those people who trolled about led zepplin last year? and now its phish. this argument is extra special fun because its almost assuredly not going to happen.
and last but not least i think a few of you take me WAAAAAYYYYYY too seriously. i could really care less about all of it. what will be will be. if roo blows as expected i wont attend. if its phish and the dead i will go. if phish plays rothbury.... awesome! if not oh well. im just here to kill some time and have some laughs. so maybe i am a troll for that reason. im not here for my passion for roo anymmore thats for sure. but again it is what it is.

Echo Project could not have had Phish. Waaaaaaaaaay too small. There was no room to expand the way the place was snug up to the mountains and dense wooded areas.
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
^Well I do not take you seriously or try not to as much but when you start saying things along the lines of 98% of the people at Bonnaroo are posers and Custies well I have a lot more to do with 98% of the folk at Bonnaroo than any 2% so you obviously mean me at least by association, and also 98% of the people on here. When you act that you will draw heat for it man.
Back to the subjet at hand for Rothbury to host Phish they would have to raise ticket prices, hire addional security, and would still be overcrowded and a logistical nightmare in short they would have to turn into something more like Bonnaroo to do it.
Also think about this imagine they are playing Bonnaroo and Rothbury every Hippie will decide to go to Roth Ticket prices will be up so after it sells out they will all show up. I was at Deer Creek I mean you just have no idea man.

i want to like you but you make it hard
is it trolling because you dont have anything positive to say? not necessarily, but kind of. If you are critical of the artists chosen in the last couple of years, not really. If you go out on a limb to claim the fest has been reduced to nothing but a capitalist institution, who cares nothing about its customers/employees ,and that the fest is only attended by MTV watching mainstream brah dudes, then yes its trolling. Is bonnaroo a business looking to make A SHIT TON of cash every year? Of course. is it wal-mart? fuck no.
You may not single people out individually, but i do personally feel singled out as a person who has only attended Bonnaroo once in my life, and it being last year (which happens to be, according to some [you], "after the real Bonnaroo") when you talk about the festival the way you do.
The best way i can sum up my aggravation is that YOU specifically make me feel as though i have never been to "Bonnaroo", even though i was their last year and it is one of the single greatest memories of my life. So... if thats not trolling im not sure what is.
I agree with you about the clauses actually, I just dont like being called a custie poser along with the other 97.999 percent of roo goers.
well i didnt say wolfmanjess and the rest of the custies. i dont know you. never met you. so why you would take some general statement about roo as personal slander against you is beyond me. again man i think your taking me too seriously. and i think the word custie is taken too seriously. it dosent necessarily mean that your a douchecougar frat boy with a kanye shirt playing eminem in the lot at roo. in the broader term it means lots of things. it mostly means that you go to one fest a year as your vacation or whatever. it could meant that your there because you heard kanye was playing there on mtv. the simple fact is that there are different styles of festie goers. there are the custies i just explained who are on vacation, buy that tie dye they wont ever wear again, and over pay for sh!t. they are called custies because they are the customers that keep the festie world turning. they are why the killers, rem, the beatie boys, metallica, the police, kanye, etc... play fests. its to support the rest of it financially. and to support the the people who make festivals and music their lifestyle. some bodies gotta pay the bills. so the main point is that being a custie is a very broad term. and its not really as slanderous as many people take it to be. if fests isnt a lifestyle for you then you will probably be labeled as a custie by someone somewhere sometime.

I explained why in the rest of the quote Dude. I am one of those people you apparently deride and has ruined Bonnaroo for you. As to my lifestyle yeah you don't know me obviously but you do seem to have formed an opinion. I think if you did know me it might be a little different, but thats fine as well. Bottom line is though when you insult the entire Bonnaroo community I am part of that community and thereby feel insulted by you.

well again it is what it is. in my opinion you havent been to bonnaroo. im sorry you missed it. same thing with langerado. it appears to be a one time thing that was beautiful and wonderful but is now gone. if you missed it that sucks. but to blame me for you feeling like you havent been to roo is not my fault. i guess you should have went. and im just the most vocal about it. almost all of the old skoolers on here severely dislike what roo has become. they dont go anymore. and the ones who did go this year came back saying its just not roo. and hey man i dont know your situation. maybe you couldnt make it to previous roos. but if the lineup changes are what brought you to roo then you have been to your roo. if you love the roo you went to then its roo for you. you may not have liked it back in the day. but if you feel like you went to roo and it was lacking, wasnt what you thought or had heard about in the past, or just felt like something wasnt right then you did miss out on bonnaroo. its not my fault. and im sorry that my talking about it makes you feel that you missed out. if i explain eating a steak to somone whos only had steak at dennys they will probably feel bad about never having had steak. but its not my fault.

So basically anyone who goes to festivals to see anything but jam bands and such are custies? Not trying to argue or anything, just I kept hearing the word custie thrown around and im still trying to figure out what it means.
