alright im not gonna post it on here in case anyones doing no spoilers, but tonights show looks like one of the best setlists i've ever seen. i can't wait to listen to this. watching the 1st set develop i was thinking to myself how are they possibly going to top that list of songs. well they did, the 2nd set looks absolutely mind blowing. can't wait to listen. d/ling set one right now
"Disobedience, in the eyes of anyone who has read history, is man's original virtue. It is through disobedience and rebellion that progress has been made." Oscar Wilde (1854 - 1900), The Soul of Man Under Socialism
"You're either on the bus or off the bus." Ken Kesey
"When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro." Hunter S. Thompson
I first saw Phish in 94, IMO this at least so far is best they have sounded since 97-98. It is so good it should be illegal!
So far Jess I have to agree. I have only heard set one night one (please don't tell me about the rest I am getting there ) . My first show was in '88, I didn't know who they were, taken to a bar, Nectar's, by a friend. The funk of 94-96 as we all know was the poop you stepped in during a great era Jess. Trey certainly sounds healthier then the last few years no question, you can hear his age in his voice but it sounds ok. Not hitting a lot of those notes like he used to be able to ..funny he's drawing out some letters in a bunch of words in Suzy like maaaaaachine, heeeeeer, soicioloooooooooogist holding it just a bit longer than usual if I didn't know any better I'd think he was hitting the junk again (just kidding it seems on purpose, mostly). the playing is solid all around I am excited.
He is off a little, and it is true the jams are not quite as extended as they used to be. However the important thing to me is Trey, and the rest of them sound like they care again. That was the big reason I stopped going to their shows after 2000, I just didn't feel they gave a damn anymore. This sound though is really good, and it makes me excited for my little piece of the summer tour.
I'm bummed that I'll miss Phish on the summer tour as their stop in my area is the same day of my buddy's wedding. However, I know their sets at 'roo will more than make up for it!
What does everyone think of what the lot scene at Knoxville is going to be? We have 2 tickets for 5 people and are driving an RV down from Boston. I would expect alot of people are going Knoxville to Roo.
Do you think the lot scene will be like a pre-bonnaroo party (a little crazier than normal)?
And do you think there will be enough people without tickets chilling in the lot during the show, that my friends can have a good time while I'm inside?
Finally, do you think it would be ok if we slept in the RV in the lot after the show, then drove down to Roo from there?

I have a friend that has like 12 tickets to Knoxville, but he cant get rid of them (he was trying to make a bit of money) but its not going to work out like that - i dont think. I think he's trying to keep like 6-8 and sell the rest. (i'll admit he's not really a phan, but he likes to buy things and sell them for more money, ie. the "Jordan" style of the nikes'. He makes a ton of money off those. like he had a pair of the "eminem jordans" he bought for 300 bucks, turn around and sold them three months later for 1,000 dollars!)
But I'm trying to convert him. got him to go to Rothbury and Langerado last year, and he's going to bonnaroo w/ this year. He may just have to sell them for face and not make any money..

I am skipping Knoxville, however I would keep a couple of things in mind. First off there will be regular and campus police out in force K-town has had some bad Phish incidents before, and they will be prepared. Secondly I believe it is a Alcohol free zone, which should also cut down on the partying. If I had a full RV and not everyone was going I would get a ride to and from the nearest Wal-mart, and let my friends sleep so they can get up early for the drive in.

I could end up skipping it too, i dk if ill have the money for it either. the Bonnaroo>phish noblesville will be a tough enough run to make in itself. but hopefully I can pull it all together.

Thanks, that was plan B......Sleep isn't the worst consolation prize since we'll be about 15 hours deep into our drive.
also, just a thought, do you think they will be letting people into the lots without tickets?
(for the locals) at tweeter, for huge party shows like buffett - they often check everyone on the way in - you have to hold up a ticket. normally its some dopey kid, so you could probably hold up any ticket and be okay - or if you have ticketfast, just print a second (or third copy).
Well the venue is on UTK campus so keeping out will be hard. I would just expect a lot of enforcement. If I had not gottten lucky in the Lottery and picked up Asheville I would be there for sure. As it stands though, Asheville>Bonnaroo>Noblesville should keep me happy.
Aren't you staying w/ a friend and not camping at Noblesville jess?
if your not, there should probably camp together.
I am camping, I dont know where yet. I made a reservation for sleepy bear but they did not contact me. I will be by myself so I dont know exactly what I am doing. I think Friday though I will stay with Friends in town, and come home sunday.

I'm confused. The show is on Friday..so your going to be at your friends till the show? and then coming and camping..or am I completely stupid?
either way, you say your going by yourself. your more than welcome to come camp w/ us. i also attempted to make arrangements for sleepy bear, but they never called or emailed me or anything. So i'm thinking maybe just going to bear creek. its cheaper, a little further down the way from the venue, but they offer 24 hr shuttle. and if the area hasnt changed DRASTICALLY the walk in should be a good time.
livephish.com you can download all the SBD's for free. We are not alking about it yet, because somepeople want to be suprised. If that is what you want just google Mr. Miner No Spoilers. That being said we already talked about the first song the first night. FLUFFHEAD!!!!!!!!!!

Duh I thought it was on Saturday, so yeah I will come to Indy Thursday night then leave on Saturday, or maybe Sunday depending. Keep me up to date on where you guys are gonna stay that way we will at least have the option of camping together, as long as we go to the same site.

hey, im wondering about lot scene for MANSFIELD as well. if anyone gets any hard info about how tough the security is gonna be please post. id like to get into the lot but i dont have a ticket and dont plan on spending $300 for one either.
between two dead shows in april and 'roo i may not be able to afford a show for the rest of the year!
^^The scene's usually pretty good. Security's not too bad, although they will id people if they look underage and make you dump the booz.... But other than that its pretty straight as far as amphitheatres go.
