i like how as the tour goes on we can closer formulate what songs they will play at roo
I'm gonna disagree with this. Tonight proved that there is no formula for their tour necessarily. You would've thought that after Hampton's 3 night run with no repeats and then Fenway > JB1 having no repeats that they would browse through their whole catalog, or atleast most of it, before hitting up the repeats. As it is, you saw a lot of songs played a 2nd time tonight. I actually really like this though... it kind of takes away from the "reunion tour" feeling of it and makes it seem more like just a Summer Tour. I really don't think there's any formula to follow to predict what we'll get at Roo yet... especially with so many shows between now and then. All it would be right now is a guess/hope of what they'll play, atleast from my perspective.
That might just be me... either way, I can't wait to hear tonight's show

i definitely think there are still some trends. i can all but guarantee that we get wilson tomorrow. so, i just got back from the show and it was great, i took my brother to his first phish show, he definitely enjoyed himself. it was great as usual but i think i liked tuesday's more. but it definitely could just be that on tuesday i was sitting a lot closer. i did get my first divided sky tonight though which was pretty incredible. all in all great and i can't wait till tomorrow. also, it definitely seems like there is some kind of curfew at jones beach, both shows ended almost exactly at 11:30, and they both only had one song encores.

I can confirm that last night's sound board recording is a LOT better than 6/2. Trey was a lot more confident in his soloing.

Oh, and I'm 5 years older than you, if that matters.
were you 12 years old at your first phish show? if so - cool
That's why I got confused. Haha. I went to my first concert in 2004. You make good points, juggernaut, and I always could see that you would make a good lawyer.

atleast go get a beer or something man!
You gotta admit though, if you've heard it that Meatstick last night was pretty wild. Page was laying down some good work on the keys throughout the whole jam!

Can't believe the complaints on some other boards about Phish repeating songs from two shows ago. Everyone's so upset of YEM and TTE being played again and it's just crazy. Let the bands play what the bands want.............and even further - it's only been 6 shows so far (in 5 years!) and if people are complaining this much it makes me wonder why they go to shows.
Think about the bands that play the same set every night and realize that Phish are amazing.
I personally love Rolling Stone for one reason......Matt Taibbi.
See? He's what I don't like. He's way too one-sided: his election coverage in 2008 basically consisted of articles about why Obama was awesome and everyone else was garbage.
Really? Matt Taibbi is super anti-Republican, and Rolling Stone was sickening with its Obama-adoration, but I never thought Taibbi fawned over Obama the way the rest of the Rolling Stones folks (esp. Venner) did. And his articles are always incredibly well-researched. The "Big Takeover" article was one of the best pieces written by anyone about the financial crisis (though you had to get past that awful Gossip Girls cover to read it). Excerpts here: www.rollingstone.com/politics/story/26793903/the_big_takeover/print
Not to deny that they have a serious slant, but it's okay to read slanted stuff occasionally so long as it's entertaining, which Taibbi always is. If you are actually getting all of your politics news from Rolling Stone, though, you have serious problems.
Anyway, RS does do a good job of recognizing Phish's awesomeness, even if they are consistently behind the times music-wise.
Totally agree about the Meatstick though, completely awful. Haven't heard last night's though...
I don't care what you say about me, just spell my name right---P.T. Barnum "As I was walking up the stairs I met a man who wasn't there He wasn't there again today I wish to God he'd go away."
