Yeah, well while I'm sure it was still an incredible show and a great way to spend an afternoon, I was mainly pointing out that even if a band screams "latenight" it doesn't mean they'll necessarily play at that time. Just in my opinion, Umphrey's is more inclined to play late night than thievery corp
i guess umphrey's doesn't really crack my top 10 of bands that "scream" latenight.

Really just Beck doing anything latenight would be awesome. I wish they would just give him 3 hours to screw around on stage with some guests and stuff. Maybe a Beck/Jack White extravaganza.
one of my friends got me back into beck when he told me to listen to midnite vultures. i was pleasantly surprised since beck has always been kind of hit or miss with me.

There are some Beck albums I'm not very big on. But you throw in Midnite Vultures or Guero, and you cannot help but enjoy Beck. He is really unique, and a lot of fun.

i will give him credit for his stage shows. they definitely leave you thinking "wtf just happened?" but in a good way.

Umphreys does deserve a late night. i really enjoyed their set last year, but i really want to see them do a 3 hour late night. i'm thinking that this year's jam-band late nights will probably be allman bros., moe., and/or umphreys, excluding the possibility of phish doing late night what stage. the thing with those jambands is that they work really well in the day or night, while all of those electronic/rave acts are served best at night, despite that a couple will get fudged over and play midafternoon.
Well I bet money STS( has one they pretty much alternate with Bisco, past that there is no telling.
I'd love to see STS9 out on the farm again. I love tribe as much as anyone on this board. But I would trade them in for a Daft Punk show. But like idio has stated the chances of Daft Punk are very slim. And, tribe has played every other year since 03'. I'd hope it was a lock.
I love Bonnaroo latenights. Such heartbreaking decisions have to be made.

I'm not a fan of Umphrey's, but (and correct me if I'm wrong) they played latenight in either '04 or '05 by themselves in one of the tents

OK....I'm totally fine with all the dissing on Umps late night if you've given them a chance LATE NIGHT and STILL didn't dig on them...but if you are judging them on late night having seen just an afternoon or early evening set then trust me....you HAVE NOT seen the REAL UMPS!! Trust me...it's like night and day ....so totally different in the whole thing it's almost like a different band playing. Sort of like I say moe on the Bonnaroo dvd and could even barely connect it to the band I saw at Echo...and even the mid day set I saw of Umps at Echo and the set I saw at Roo last year...SOOOO totally diff...you REALLY have to see them a few times to "get" them.....I would SOOOO love to see them late night and see them REALLY in their total element!
Oh...and after seeing an afternoon set of Porcupine Tree @ VooDoo in 2007 would be super excited to see a late night of them at Roo this year!! ;D
Killers late night would be quite nice, the new CD is fantastic. Its seems bout time for Warren to return to the farm in some context as well and Mr. Haynes loves to tear things up late night.
They put on one of the best shows I have seen this year. Had the crowd dancing the entire time. Even their slow jams are great. I would really love to see them get a latenight
